The Incident

On the 23rd August, while doing poojaon Janmasthami , the most sacred day for Hindus, militant Christians entered intothe Ashram premises at about 8.00 p.m.

and pumped bullets from an AK-47assault rifle on the frail body of an 84

years old Swamijee (Vedanta Keshari Swami Laxanananda Saraswati) atJalespata Vanabashi Kanyashram in

Kondhmal District of Orissa.

Some Facts Govt. version Maoists Killed Swamiji and 4 others vis--vis

the extremist Christians did it: The DGP of Orissa Police Gopal Nanda now has toned down his Maoist

angle and says that there is strong possibility of Maoists killing of Swamiji and others on the point that the arms and ammunitions used inthe killing are normally available with the Maoists to control the law andorder situation in the state.

Eye Witness and Circumstantial facts: its Churchsponsored killing Around 30 masked young people forced their entry into the residential

Girls School (Kanyashrama) set up by Swamiji. at Jalespata inKandhamal district.

They resorted to firing killing five on the spot. All the intruders were masked leaving enough suspension that they were

local people known to the residents of the school. The assassins were brutal: mutilated the bodies after

killing with bullet. They were so brutal that after the death of Swamiji and one lady

sanyasini Bhakti Mata they even brutally mutilated the body with sharpweapons.

This shows level of anger and hatred against Swamiji and his cohorts.

Some Factscontd Locals have caught hold of suspects and have handed

over them to police

At least 4 persons so far have been nabbed by local people suspectingthem to be behind Swamijis killing. They have been nabbed in twodifferent locations and the suspects are in police custody.

The people caught hold of them in suspicious circumstances. They hadclothes of blood stain clothes, masks that were used during swamijiskilling and so on.

The identity of these people have been established with relations withNGOS especially frontal organizations and funded by Christian fundingagencies.

Seven of the killer gang escaped from Kandhamal district in a 407 Tatavehicle. When they were chased their was exchange of fire with the

Police on the same night of the incident. On 26th Aug 08, when 400 / 500 irate crowd gheraoed a Christianhabitation in Barakhamba village suspected to be a hide out for 12 off the killer gang, armed CRPF led by a DIG of Police raided after exchange of fire. Arms were recovered, 2 of the assailants died and 2CRPF jawans got killed. The harbourer couple with injuries died in

hospital. Two Hindus died in cross fire.
