What We Do

At Vermont Adult Learning, our primary mission is to support you in improving basic skills, earning your high school credential and transitioning to work and/or higher education.

What We Aren’t

• Not a school – your goals are your responsibility and we are here to help you achieve them

• One-on-One tutoring program

Our most successful students…

• Are able to commit to a schedule and attend regularly

• Make their appointments and notify us of absences

• Are realistic about identifying and dealing with potential barriers

• Take responsibility for learning

Taking Responsibility

• Set learning goals based on what I need to know.

• Think about how I learn best, and use those strategies to help myself learn.

• Use all the available resources to learn what I need to learn

• Evaluate whether I’m learning what I’ve set out to learn

• Test out my learning by trying to apply it in real-life situations
