Today’s Reality

• Reality – More Work, Less Staff• Reality – More Sourcing Resources than ever before• Reality – If you don’t consciously use tools to share

information, you’ll be lost in it.

If we spread some of our knowledge to the recruiters, we can free up more time for strategic sourcing activities


Staying on Top of Information

• LinkedIn Answers (and other frequently updated content)

• Sharing RSS Feeds with co-workers

• While it might take us a while to set everything up, once done so properly, the recruiters can stay up-to-speed on searches, articles, and other pieces of relevant content


Let’s Try Another

• Instead of saving a blog/question to an RSS Feed, let’s save a web search that we will frequently use

• The goal here is to create a “base” search that can easily be modified by other team members

Organizing and Sharing Resources

• Build a resource list for each client, vertical, industry, etc.

• Include target companies, organizations, schools, publications, and social media sites

• Create one master document and allow everyone access in an effort to keep it up-to-date


Exporting Sites from IE

• Another way to share information among the group• Once you save sites to your favorites in IE, you can then

export them to a file that can be sent to team members


Organizing and Sharing Searches

• Create “baseline” searches• Use multiple search/metasearch engines• Take care of the Boolean so that recruiters can simply

add keywords• PowerSearches, XRays, Social Media searches• Utilize Google Docs again


After the Searches have been Saved…

• Click on the favorite link to load the results• Once the results have loaded, copy the URL address of

the results• Back to Google Docs


Maximum Collaboration with CSE’s

• Custom Search Engines• Make one for each client, vertical, industry, etc.• Will save time by targeting only those websites specific

to your topic• Once we teach recruiters how to add/subtract sites, time

will be freed up as they can run their own searches• Multiple options for CSE’s

Final Thoughts

• Recruiters and sourcers will always be working hand-in-hand

• While it is our job to “feed” the recruiters information, we can still share a few tactics without giving away all our secrets

• By utilizing a few tools and setting the team down the correct path, we can begin to free time up for additional sourcing activities
