Concept Note:
Kolkata Society for Asian Studies wants to organise a webinar to project
a current scenario of folk art and crafts of India in our new normal
world. We are looking at art historians, folk art researchers and NGOs
who work with craft clusters as Speakers. Apart from mapping the
disastrous effect, new strategies of survival and development of new
creative ideas and outlets in future and possible way of marketing - these
are the main focal points of planning this webinar.
If we can find a way out for survival of our folk artists we can save our
own heritage in the long run. We want a youthful and resourceful joining
for fruitful discussion which can help our Government to take a proper
step and encourage our artists to enrich their own culture and heritage
as usual with no pull back or fear for sustainability.
