The pump units included seven process pumps for pumping thermal oil at a drive rating of up to 315 kW, and four canned motor pumps with a maximum 45 kW rating. The pumps perform different tasks at the concentrated solar power (CSP) power plant, which will be commissioned at the end of 2013. The order, valued at more than E300 000, includes 21 pumps for moving heavy, Arabian light crude (ALC) and lubricating oil. The system, which consists of several chemical scrubbers, thermoplastic ducting and exhaust fans, is designed to remove acid mists and fumes generated during the anodizing of electrical components. The chemical scrubbers use Fybroc brand recirculation pumps from Met-Pro’s Global Pump Solutions business unit. www.met-pro.com HMS Group’s Apollo Goessnitz GmbH has manufactured a bespoke BB5 pumping unit for Uralchem Group subsidiary Azot based in Berezniki, in Russia’s Perm region. The horizontal 12-stage barell pump with back-to-back design is being used for carbamate transfer. The pump was designed for a maximum discharge pressure of 242 bar at 130°C with 150 m 3 per hour. Manufactured according to API 610, the pump is equipped with pressurised API 682 plan 53B seal systems. During 2012, the company experienced notable growth in the international oil & gas market where it received orders valued at nearly £7 million for its range of seawater lift and firewater pumps. In the power generation market, Hayward Tyler secured multiple orders from India and China for its boiler circulating pumps. Since year-end, the trend has continued with Hayward Tyler winning a further new order from India valued at £0.8 million from BHEL, India’s largest boiler provider. “Significant steps have been taken over the last 12 months to improve the operational efficiencies within our core manufacturing activity so that we can better leverage Hayward Tyler’s growing international order book. Hitachi Plant Technologies was formed in April 2006 through the merger of Hitachi Plant Engineering & Construction Co Ltd, Hitachi Kiden Kogyo Ltd, Hitachi Industries Co Ltd and part of Hitachi’s Industrial Systems Group. The water technology company has signed a 10-year lease to rent the second and third floors of a building in Rye Brook, New York. Xylem, which had considered moving to other tri-state locations, received US$1.35 million in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits and a US$1 million Capital Grant through Empire State Development. The new, expanded 67 145 sq ft space will be a Xylem-branded, world-class head- quarters designed to encourage collaboration and training, as well as housing an innovation centre. Construction will begin in the second quarter of 2013. The move is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013, marking the company’s second anniversary as a standalone company following the spinoff of ITT Corp’s water businesses in October 2011.
