Sulzer Pumps is to supply 12 containerised diesel-engine hydraulic driven firewater pump packages for installation on four floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels in Brazil. Purchased and built by Estaleiro Enseada do Paraguaçu SA, each FPSO vessel will have three diesel-engine hydraulic driven firewater pump packages from Sulzer Pumps containing centrifugal pumps, diesel engine, hydraulic power unit, fire and gas detection system and all associated auxiliaries.

www.sulzer.comKSB Group has delivered a number of pumps for a new 50MW solar thermal power plant located near Seville in Spain. The pump units included seven process pumps for pumping thermal oil at a drive rating of up to 315 kW, and four canned motor pumps with a maximum 45 kW rating. All the units were built to American Petroleum Institute (API) standards and specifications. The pumps perform different tasks at the concentrated solar power (CSP) power plant, which will be commissioned at the end of 2013. They provide support for the daily start-up of the solar field, control the level of the thermal oil at temperatures of up to 400°C, protect the solar field from freezing and overheating, and are also used in the oil cleaning process.

www.ksb.comColfax Fluid Handling is to provide 21 Allweiler screw pumps for a gas turbine power plant in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia. The order, valued at more than E300 000, includes 21 pumps for moving heavy, Arabian light crude (ALC) and lubricating oil. The pumps will operate on three gas turbine generators at the Yanbu II power plant.

www.colfaxcorp.comMet-Pro Corp’s Environmental Air Solutions business unit has received an order worth more than US$500 000 to supply a Duall brand air pollution control system to a global electronics manufacturer. The system, which consists of several chemical scrubbers, thermoplastic ducting and exhaust fans, is designed to remove acid mists and fumes generated during the anodizing of electrical components. The chemical scrubbers use Fybroc brand recirculation pumps from Met-Pro’s Global Pump Solutions business unit.

HMS Group’s Apollo Goessnitz GmbH has manufactured a bespoke BB5 pumping unit for Uralchem Group subsidiary Azot based in Berezniki, in Russia’s Perm region. The horizontal 12-stage barell pump with back-to-back design is being used for carbamate transfer. The pump was designed for a maximum discharge pressure of 242 bar at 130°C with 150 m3 per hour. Manufactured according to API 610, the pump is equipped with pressurised API 682 plan 53B seal systems. A special heating jacket has been installed to secure the temperature of the handled medium and its viscosity.

During 2012, the company experienced notable growth in the international oil & gas market where it received orders valued at nearly £7 million for its range of seawater lift and firewater pumps. In the power generation market, Hayward Tyler secured multiple orders from India and China for its boiler circulating pumps. Since year-end, the trend has continued with Hayward Tyler winning a further new order from India valued at £0.8 million from BHEL, India’s largest boiler provider. “Significant steps have been taken over the last 12 months to improve the operational efficiencies within our core manufacturing activity so that we can better leverage Hayward Tyler’s growing international order book. As a consequence, we are now seeing a genuine momentum within Hayward Tyler which the board believes will be healthily reflected in our full year results,” said Hayward Tyler Group plc CEO Ewan Lloyd-Baker.

distributor and rebuilder Power Zone Equipment Inc (PZE) delivered five pump packages to Panthers Machinery Inc in Colombia. The packages were custom built with pumps refurbished by PZE to meet original manufacturer specifications. All five packages were driven by tractor trailer from Center, Colorado to Houston, Texas to be put on ships heading for Colombia. The pump packages included Sulzer-Bingham, Ingersoll Rand and Pompes Guinard pumps.

The merger is being conducted to promote the integrated management of sales, research and development, and procurement in Hitachi’s infrastructure systems business, as well as to consolidate technologies and strengthen Hitachi’s ability to respond to diversifying market needs. Hitachi Plant Technologies was formed in April 2006 through the merger of Hitachi Plant Engineering & Construction Co Ltd, Hitachi Kiden Kogyo Ltd, Hitachi Industries Co Ltd and part of Hitachi’s Industrial Systems Group. In April 2010, the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi.

The water technology company has signed a 10-year lease to rent the second and third floors of a building in Rye Brook, New York. Xylem, which had considered moving to other tri-state locations, received US$1.35 million in Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits and a US$1 million Capital Grant through Empire State Development. The new, expanded 67 145 sq ft space will be a Xylem-branded, world-class head-quarters designed to encourage collaboration and training, as well as housing an innovation centre. Construction will begin in the second quarter of 2013. The move is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2013, marking the company’s second anniversary as a standalone company following the spinoff of ITT Corp’s water businesses in October 2011. Xylem is currently headquartered in White Plains, New York.
