Oracle ODBC Client Installation Download “Oracle Database 11g Release 1 Client (11.1.0.6.0) for Microsoft Windows (32-bit)” - win32_11gR1_client.zip http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle11g/111060_win32soft.html Unzip win32_11gR1_client.zip and run (.\win32_11gR1_client\client\setup.exe).

Click on the “Next” button.

Select Installation Type

Click on “Custom”. Click on the “Next” button.

Install Location

In «Oracle Base:», enter «D:\oracle» The «Path:» should be automaticly updated for «D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1»

Product-Specific Prerequisite Checks

Click on the «Next» button.

Available Product Components

Select the following options: Section «Oracle Client 11.1.0.6.0»

- select «SQL*Plus 11.1.0.6.0» - select «Oracle Net 11.1.0.6.0»

Section «Oracle Windows Interfaces 11.1.0.6.0»

- select «Oracle Objects for OLE 11.1.0.6.0» - select «Oracle ODBC Driver 11.1.0.6.0» - select «Oracle Provider for OLE DB 11.1.0.6.0» - select «Oracle Data Provider for .NET 1.x 11.1.0.6.0» - select «Oracle Data Provider for .NET 2.0 11.1.0.6.0» - unselect all other options of this section.

Click on the «Next» button.

Select «Perform typical configuration». Click on the «Next» button.

Click on the «Exit» button.

ODBC test

Data Sources(ODBC) Open (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Data Sources(ODBC))

ODBC Data Source Administrator

In the tab «User DSN» or «System DSN», Click on the «Add…» button.

Create New Data Source

Select «Oracle in OraClient11g_home1». Click on the «Finish» button.

Oracle ODBC Driver Configuration

Enter a (Data Source Name) and a (TNS Service Name). Exemple:

- Data Source Name : dnsTestIntegraWorld - TNS Service Name : integra.world

Click on the «Test Connection» button.

Oracle ODBC Driver Connect

Enter a (User Name) and (Password). Exemple:

- User Name : integra - Password : integra

Click on the «OK» button. The message «Connection successful» should appear.

If an error occur, try: 1- In the file sqlnet.ora, put the value SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES to (NONE) D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\network\admin\sqlnet.ora SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NONE) 2- Put a valid tnsnames.ora file at this place: D:\oracle\product\11.1.0\client_1\network\admin\tnsnames.ora (copy the one from the database or the forms server 10g)
