Oracle BPM Studio 11g Installation Guide

Go to http://edelivery.oracle.com/

Select language as English and Continue. Enter your details. You will be taken to the screen below.

Select as in above screen. The Platform should be according to your target platform.

This will take you to the screen below. Select the option as shown in the screen and press “Continue”.

Download the ones shown above by clicking on the “Download” buttons at the start of the row:

1. Oracle JDeveloper 11g and Oracle Application Development Framework 11g (11.1.1.3.0) (Part 1 of 2) V21024-01 Part 1 of 2 (1.6G)

2. Oracle JDeveloper 11g and Oracle Application Development Framework 11g (11.1.1.3.0) (Part 2 of 2) V21024-01 Part 2 of 2 (475M)

After the download, there should be two files with you - (1) V21024-01.zip & (2) V21024-01.zip

The first zip has the Oracle JDeveloper IDE installer and the second Zip has the extension for BPM Studio as shown below (bpm-jdev-

extension.zip).

In the page, go to Section 2.

Section 2.1 will ask you to download JDK 6.0 update 18 (or higher). This is needed to launch the installer. The link is present in the same page.

Download the JDK from Sun website as shown below and install it. Take the latest one as shown below.

It will download an executable named “jdk-6u20-windows-i586.exe”. Run it and install it in C Drive.

Click on “Accept”.

Click on “Change” button.

Give C:\JDK1_6_20 as the “Install to” location

Click “OK”

Click “Next”.

It will extract the installer and install.

Click “Finish” to end the JDK installation.

Make a note of the JDK installation directory as above (C:\JDK1_6_20) as this will be needed later.

In a directory named C:\JDevInstaller, unpack the two downloaded JDeveloper installer ZIP files in two directories of the same name.

Open a command prompt in the directory C:\JdevInstaller\JDev11G11.1.1.3_1of2_V21024-01as shown below and at the prompt type the

following command shown in red

C:\JdevInstaller\JDev11G11.1.1.3_1of2_V21024-01>C:\JDK1_6_20\bin\java -jar jdevstudio11113install.jar

Extraction of the installer will begin and start the JDeveloper 11g installation wizard.

Click “Next’”

Select the radio button “Create a new Middleware Home” and enter “C:\Oracle\Middleware” as the Middleware Home Directory below. Click

“Next”.

Select the “Complete” radio button and click “Next”. You will see the Sun JDK selected by default.

Click “Next”.

Click “Next”.

Click “Next”.

Click “Next”.

Installation begins.

Click “Done” You may run the “Quick Start” guide.

Click on “Launch Oracle JDeveloper 11g”. Alternatively, you can launch it from the Directory “C:\oracle\Middleware\jdeveloper” by double-

clicking on file “jdeveloper.exe” as shown below. This will show the splash screen of the IDE.

From Windows > All Programs > Oracle Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.3.0

[Before the start page, there is a “select role” screen; Should the “default role” be selected?

The IDE interface comes up as shown below with Start Page

Now the BPM extension has to be installed from the second ZIP installer.

Click on Help > Check for Updates.

Click “Next”.

Select the source as “Install From Local File”.

Click on “Browse” and navigate to the directory “C:\JdevInstaller\JDev11G11.1.1.3_2of2_V21024-01\middleware_extensions”

Select file “bpm-jdev-extension.zip” and click “Open”.

Click “Next”.

Click “Finish” to install the “Oracle BPM Studio 11g” extension. JDeveloper will have to be restarted.

Similarly, install the SOA extension also by selecting the extension file “soa-jdev-extension.zip”

JDeveloper will have to be restarted..

To build BPM applications, click “New Application” in the Application.

In the New Applications menu, you will now be able to see the “BPM Application” option. Give Application Name As “MyFirstBPMApplication”

and click “Next”.

Click “Next”

Set Project name to MyFirstBPMProject.

We can see BPM and SOA as in “Selected” list. Click “Next”.

“Composite Template” should be selected as “Composite with BPMN Process. Click “Finish”.

The screen below will come up. The BPMN process creation wizard will be started. Please follow the BPMN process developer’s guide (insert

link to guide here) for creating your BPMN process.

As shown below, you should be able to see the “BPM Project Navigator” in the “View” menu.

The installation of Oracle BPM Studio 11g is now complete.

The BPMN process creation wizard can be launched again from the “BPM Project Navigation” view by doing a right click on the Project and then

selecting New > Process.

Give a “Name” to the new process

The canvas will come up.
