YEE-HAW! It’s that time of year again!

The Calgary Stampede is back in action.

We wanted to give you a little history around The Indian Village. The aboriginals have been involved with the Stampede since the beginning. In the early days, they would camp out with their horses on

50th avenue where the power line runs between MacLeod Trail and Elbow Drive. Everyday they rode their horses to the Stampede grounds. Today you can visit the Indian Village at the

Stampede, and enjoy their culture which includes: native dress, teepees, dancing,

abodes, drumming, powwows, and beaded crafts. They are also a part of the Stampede parade. Riding

their horses in beautifully made cultural dress.

We also found some tasty treats you can try… If you dare.

• Cricket Grilled Cheese • Kangaroo Pizza

• Deep-fried Banana Peppers • Bacon Onion Bombs • Goats Head Soup

• Smoking Charcoal Ice cream • Deep-fried Pineapple Rings

• Deep-fried Bacon Wrapped Reese’s Cups

• Ice Cream Cookie Dough Sandwich’s

And if you’d like to catch some live entertainment, they’ve got something for everyone.

• Live Bands • Kick-off Parade

• Calgary Stampede Showband • Dance Acts

• Native Drumming and Music • Rodeo Events • Fireworks

• Midway rides, and much, much more!

ABRA-KADABRA! OPTIONS’ had a magic show! Clients and staff were able to enjoy magic tricks, and a

dance party with bubbles! Christopher, the magician, preformed card tricks, and disappearing tricks. We thought he was very funny. He even pulled a rabbit out of a hat,

and a magic wand out of his nose! We hope to see him again.

We would also like to congratulate Chantelle and Colleen on their new arrivals. Everyone at the day program is beyond excited about the new additions to your

families. Please visit us lots!
