Experience Huahines history, traditons and archaelogical sites on this in-depth "walk-about" tour.

You will leave the pier aboard the open-air "Le Truck" and make your way to Maeva Village, home to the densest concentration of archaeological sites in Polynesia. At one time, this was the traditional home to all of the island's chiefs and their families. Marae, or prehistoric temples abound here and stand as a testimony to the uniqueness and importance of the area.

Just above the coastal flat of Maeva is Mata’irea Hill, home to over 200 stone structures, including marae, agricultural terraces, house foundations, fortification walls and burial platforms. Your guided walk of the area gives you a first-hand look at these sites and will allow you to see into the past. During your visit, your guide will cover various diverse subjects; including Polynesian origins and migrations, traditional Polynesian society, plants and animals, religion and warfare, the arrival of European explorers, missionaries, soldiers and whalers.

Re-boarding "Le Truck", you will next see the stone fish traps of Maeva’s Lake Fauna Nui, which are still in use by the villagers after many hundreds of years. Your return route to the pier will take you through the village of Faie for a visit with the giant blue-eyed eels, and then up the mountain to the Belvedere Lookout where you will have a wonderful photo opportunity of the beautiful Bay of Maroe.

Please note: There is approximately 90-minutes of strenuous walking on this tour that includes some walking both uphill and downhill and uneven and natural surfaces. Le Truck is a casual, open-air vehicle resembling a windowless bus. Due to road conditions in some areas of the island, you should be prepared for a bumpy ride during parts of the tour. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Lightweight clothing; sun caps; sunglasses; sunscreen; insectant repellent; a bottle of water from the ship; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Tour Price: $265.00

June 08, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Nuka Hiva's spectacular beauty and photo opportunities are yours to discover during this off-road adventure in the Taipivai Valley.

Depart the pier for the drive to the Taipivai Valley, one of the richest archeological sites in the Marquesas Islands. The Taipivai Valley is a location made famous by the American writer and former sailor, Herman Melville (1819-1891), who deserted his ship and hid in this valley. Captured by the indigenous natives, he lived in the Taipivai Valley for three weeks, a period during which he observed their way of life. This experience was the inspiration for his novel, Typee. This landmark was most recently made famous by being the base camp for the Survivor TV show filmed here in 2001.

En route to the Taipivai Valley, you will drive on a steep trail lined with lush flora and vegetation through the island's interior, then traverse the exquisite mountain terrain. Along the way, several stops will be made to take in spectacular vistas and photo opportunities of the coastline, bays and valleys. At one particular stop, you will see your ship anchored in the Bay of Taihoae. Next, you will drive through Taipivai's small agricultural villages, then proceed to a long stretch of beach at the end of the village. Upon arrival, a stop will be made to take in splendid vistas of the valley and surrounding mountains. Handicraft items are usually available at the beach; however, please make sure to have small denominations of cash. Credit cards not accepted.

Following your visit, you will re-board your 4WD vehicle for the return drive to the pier.

Please note: While this tour includes limited walking, it does involve travel over rough, uneven terrain. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and not recommended for those with mobility concerns, pregnant women or guests with back and/or neck problems. Light weight clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; insect repellant; and flat, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. It is further recommended that families and friends wishing to ride together contact the Destination Services Desk in order to be assigned the same vehicle. The drivers are not guides, and their command of the English language is very limited. The vehicles used are not air-conditioned. Travelling to the Marquesas is discovering secluded islands, with limited facilities. Excursions are operated with local resident's personal vehicles - SUV double-cabin style, seating 4 pax ( 1 in front and 3 in the back) and are subject to availability. This tour is mainly a panoramic sightseing tour.

HIL-001 VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK ODYSSEY

Tour Price: $155.00

June 13, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

This excursion is a wonderful opportunity to experience the most well-known attraction on the Big Island of Hawaii, Volcanoes National Park.

Boarding your coach at the pier, you will embark on a scenic 1-hour journey to Volcanoes National Park. Upon arrival at the Park, you will enjoy a drive along the 11-mile Crater Rim that circles Kilauea's summit caldera and craters. Frequent stops allow you to appreciate first-hand the wonder and unique beauty of Hawaii's volcanoes. Marvel at the smooth (pahoehoe) and jagged lava (a'a), lava tubes, sulphur banks and bleak desert areas that comprise this dramatic landscape and be sure to bring along your camera as you'll certainly want to capture some of these incredible sights as a reminder of your visit. Later, a short walk along a rain forest path leads you to the famed Thurston Lava Tube, a natural wonder unique to Hawaii. Lorrin Thurston, a local newspaper publisher, discovered the tube in 1913 and it has fascinated all who visit it for decades.

Continuing on, you will make your way to the Thomas A. Jaggar Museum, located next to the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory (not open to the general public). Museum visitors can see ongoing videos of volcanic eruptions, geologic displays, and working seismic equipment relating to the adjacent Hawaiian Volcano Observatory. From this location there are spectacular overlooks into Kilauea Caldera and Halema'uma'u Crater. Oval-shaped Kilauea Caldera is 2 to 2.5 miles across, depending on where you stand, and is approximately 400 ft. deep in some places. Within this caldera is Halema'uma'u Crater. This close to the crater, you can smell the brimstone (an old-fashioned name for sulphur) and hear steam hissing out of fissures in the rock.

Leaving the Park behind, you will next travel to the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory for a visit. Macadamia nuts are considered by many to be the world's finest nuts and before you leave, you will have some time to browse the popular gift shop and perhaps pick up some to take home with you.

Following your visit to the Macadamia Nut Factory, you will transfer back to the pier where your tour concludes.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 90-minutes of easy to moderate walking/standing. There are some steps to negotiate in order to view the Thurston Lava Tube. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, can make their own way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. It is important to note that natural sulfur gases found around the craters may affect those with respiratory problems. The volcano area is known for being cool and wet, so guests should bring a light jacket and an umbrella as well as wear flat, comfortable walking shoes. Participants should not expect to see molten lava. The order of the sites viewed or visited may vary.

HIL-002 FORMATIONS OF PELE HELICOPTER FLIGHT

Tour Price: $595.00

June 13, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Enjoy a thrilling helicopter flight to see one of the most geologically active environments in the world, the Kilauea Volcano. Throughout the ages, Kilauea has fascinated the people of Hawaii and here's your chance to see this legendary home of the goddess Pele as only modern man can - from high above in a helicopter.

A short transfer from the pier brings you to the helicopter terminal where upon arrival you will receive a safety briefing before setting off on your adventure. As you lift-off into the skies above The Big Island, the ever-changing colors and landscape of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park unfolds below you as lush rainforest gives way to stark lava fields. View black, barren lava flows as you approach the Pu'u O'o vent (weather permitting) as well as search for active lava flows, all as you experience the ""newest place"" on earth. Marvel at the majestic scenery Mother Nature has provided as you soar above the lava flows and ""Pele's Fountain"", where molten lava erupts into the Pacific Ocean as tumultuous waves crash against the shore.

You will no doubt be awestruck by Nature's incredible power as you survey the dramatic force of a living volcano and fly above many homes and buildings that have been consumed in the wake of the lava. Equally amazing is the volcano's ongoing contribution to the island: miles of fresh shoreline that has been created where lava has tumbled to the ocean. Throughout your marvelous flight, your pilot will provide informative narration about the sights you are viewing to enhance your once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Returning to the helicopter terminal after approximately 45-minutes of flight time, you will be transferred back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes limited walking; however, guests must be able to negotiate the steps into the helicopter. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability. In the interest of safety and comfort, guests weighing 250 lbs or more must purchase an additional seat. Videos of flights are available for purchase at the helicopter terminal.

HIL-008 WATERFALL, CAVE & LAGOON TREKKING

Tour Price: $235.00

June 13, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

This adventure excursion is geared for those who like to explore off the beaten path and discover remote treasures often unseen by the average traveler. Making the tour even more special is that you will be traveling in small groups for a more intimate experience while taking in the spectacular wild beauty of coastal Hilo.

Setting off from the pier, you will drive along roads built in the 1800's to the local surf spot of Honoli'I where you will have a photo stop before traveling to Rainbow Falls. Here, you will hike through the "back door" of the falls by way of a path that takes you past giant Banyan and Mango trees. Next, you will venture to an area known as "Boiling Pots", where water from the Wailuku River rushes through old lava rocks and lava tubes creating an undulating "boiling" effect.

Your journey continues as you make your way to Kaumanu Caves. These natural wonders were formed by the 1881 eruption of Mauna Loa, the largest volcano in the world and to access them, you will climb down an almost vertical staircase. Once inside, you will have the chance to see some unusual lava formations. Some of the lava here is actually still red in color, a result of the lava having cooled fast enough to retain its color.

Leaving the Caves, your next destination is the rugged coastline of King's Landing. This is a visual Mecca that is rarely seen by visitors to the island. Following your guide, you will trek through white sand lagoons that are filled with a mixture of salt water and artesian well water that comes from below the surface. Adding to the dramatic beauty, the entire area is surrounded by unique lava formations.

Throughout the day, your local Hawaiian guides will fill your senses with stories from long ago and show you sights that you have only dreamed about. It will truly be a day to remember and you will no doubt feel enriched by this unique and unforgettable experience spent unearthing the hidden jewels of The Big Island.

Please note: This is a very active tour that includes approximately 2-hours of moderate hiking/walking over uneven and sometimes slippery surfaces. Participants should be in good physical condition. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns, back problems or heart conditions. Guests should wear a swimsuit under comfortable clothing and bring a towel. Participants will get wet! The minimum age to participate is 8 years of age and children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or adult legal guardian. HNL-001 A TALE OF TWO PALACES

Tour Price: $135.00

June 14, 2015 09:30 AMDate:

Step back in time on this unforgettable and exciting adventure as you visit the historic highlights of the fifteen hundred-year old Kingdom of Hawaii.

Your tour begins by traveling from the pier into the lush Nuuanu Valley and your first stop, Queen Emma's Summer Palace, where a past era truly comes alive. Queen Emma was the wife of King Kamehameha IV. Born in 1836, she was descended from Hawaiian chieftains and John Young, an Englishman who became friend and advisor to King Kamehameha I. Her summer retreat contains Victorian and Hawaiian treasures along with rare artifacts and personal memorabilia of Hawaii's royalty.

From here, you will drive through a tropical rainforest en route to the world famous Pali Lookout. The Nu'uanu Pali was the site of the Battle of Nu'uanu, one of the most important battles in Hawaiian history, in which Kamehameha I conquered the island of Oahu, bringing it under his rule. After driving through a spectacular tree-tunnel, you will next travel back to Honolulu where you will stop at Hawaii's sacred Royal Mausoleum, "Mauna 'Ala", the final resting place of six of the kingdom's last eight ruling monarchs.

Continuing on, you will be treated to a guided visit inside a true Hawaiian national treasure, Iolani Palace. This is the only official state residence of royalty in the United States and was the official residence of the Hawaiian Kingdom's last two monarchs - King Kalakaua, who built the Palace in 1882, and his sister and successor, Queen Lili uokalani.

Additional sites of interest you will see before returning to the pier include the legendary King Kamehameha statue and the unique Kawaiahao Church, often referred to as "the Westminster Abbey of Hawaii".

Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of easy to moderate walking/standing. Because the tour uses a minibus for transportation and there is no additional space for wheelchair storage, the tour is not available to wheelchair guests. Those guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. LAH-001 LANAI 4X4 TREKKER EXPEDITION

Tour Price: $255.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Take a ferry to Lanai, one of Hawaii's most secluded islands, for an adventure into its unspoiled hinterlands.

Depart from the pier and board a fast-passenger ferry across Auau Channel to Lanai, the sixth largest Hawaiian island that was once referred to as the "pineapple island". Along the way, enjoy ocean views of neighboring islands and look for spinner dolphin, which are named for their acrobatic leaps and mid-air spins. You may also see migrating whales in the channel.

Upon arriving at Manele Harbor, you will board an air-conditioned 4X4 vehicle and take off for some of Lanai's less-traveled and most interesting areas. Pass through a forest of towering ironwood, a rapidly growing tree that is often used as a windbreak. Visit the eerie Garden of the Gods in a remote arid canyon. The strange rock formations and crusted lava form an almost lunar landscape, where axis deer may be seen grazing on what little vegetation remains. You will also stop at Shipwreck Beach, an 8-mile stretch of sand that overlooks a graveyard of vessels that failed to negotiate the shallow, rocky channel. The rusted hull of an oil tanker can be seen lodged on the coral reef, a familiar sight since the 1940s, when it was intentionally grounded as an inexpensive means of disposal.

Mid-way through your day, you will be treated to a picnic-style lunch of sandwiches, chips and cookies.

When your tour of Lanai concludes, you will re-board the ferry and return to the pier at Lahaina Harbor.

Please note: There is some moderate walking on this tour and the surfaces at Garden of the Gods and Shipwreck Beach are uneven natural terrain and sand. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

LAH-002 IAO VALLEY AND MAUI OCEAN CENTER

Tour Price: $155.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Explore the natural paradise of legendary Iao Valley and the remarkable Maui Ocean Center, the Western Hemisphere's largest tropical aquarium.

Depart from the pier and before long you will be engulfed by the outrageously beautiful West Maui Mountains. Their bio-diversity is extraordinarily rich, even by Hawaii's elevated standards. The jungle-like scenery is equally dramatic upon entering the Iao Valley State Park, the site of a battle that changed the course of Hawaii's history. It was here that King Kamehameha I defeated Kalaikupule and united the Hawaiian Islands. The park's iconic landmark and focal point is Iao Needle, a green-mantled rock outcropping that soars into the air.

After approximately 45-minutes exploring the park, you will drive south to the Maui Ocean Center in Ma'alaea Village for a self-guided visit. The center's diversity of marine life, all of which has been collected around the Hawaiian Islands, is absolutely phenomenal. See America's largest live coral display, enigmatic Pacific Blue Marlin, highly toxic Pufferfish, frolicking seals and green sea turtles, many of which were born in the aquarium but will be released into the ocean after they grow and gain strength. There are more than 60 interactive habitat exhibits, which provides an unrivalled aquatic experience.

Following your tour of the Maui Ocean Center, you will rejoin your coach for the transfer back to the pier.

Please note: There is approximately 2.5 hours of easy to moderate walking on this tour. There is a short, paved loop trail at Iao Valley to view the needle but guests may stay with the coach if they choose. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, can make their own way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

LAH-005 RAINFOREST WATERFALL HIKE

Tour Price: $235.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

After driving through some of Maui's most spectacular countryside, you will get to experience it up-close by walking to several waterfalls in one of Maui's most popular rain forest valleys.

Leaving from the pier, you will first travel along Maui's magnificent coastline, through the isthmus and then follow the Hana Highway for a short time. The falls you will see today are 10 to 40 feet high and all have large pools perfect for swimmers or toe dippers (swimming is optional). It's unusual for a valley to have so many waterfalls so close together. This is truly Maui at its best - gorgeous bamboo and tropical rain forests, fresh-water streams, numerous waterfalls and pools, ferns, flowers and fruit trees. The entire area is a playground of beauty and adventure. Adding to the experience, there is nothing like "showering" under a Hawaiian waterfall.

LAH-006 MAUI KAYAK & SNORKEL

Tour Price: $155.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Maui revolves around the water, and this adventurous tour allows you to experience the fun by kayak and snorkeling alike.

Depart from the pier and drive along the shore to Kapalua Bay, whose beach is often ranked among America's best. Situated between two lava points and flanked by coconut palms, beautiful Kapalua is known for its gentle waters and colorful reef fish. Upon arrival, you will receive a safety briefing and paddling instructions before climbing aboard your kayak. Once everyone is ready, you will head out, paddling along the magnificent shoreline while your guide describes the history of the area and points out the most noteworthy attractions.

Before long, you will stop to snorkel at the natural coral reefs that have grown over the ancient lava formations on the sea bottom. Two outstretched lava arms protect Kapalua Bay, so the conditions in the water are usually perfect. As you glide along the surface, you might see curious triggerfish, flamboyant wrasses, acrobatic spinner dolphins, and graceful green sea turtles. If you're here from November to April, look for migrating humpback whales breaching the water's surface, as more than 10,000 of them pass by each year.

After nearly 1-hour of snorkeling, you will re-board your kayak and enjoy a leisurely paddle back to shore where your transportation awaits to transfer you back to the pier in Lahaina.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of moderate to strenuous paddling in the kayak. Participants should be in good physical condition and be good swimmers who are comfortable in the water. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns and not suitable for those with heart or back conditions. Guests should wear swimsuits and a cover-up; sun caps; sunglasses; sunscreen and appropriate footwear (sturdy sandals with a back-strap are recommended) along with bringing a towel and waterproof camera. Minimum age to participate is 11 years old and persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Maximum weight allowance is 260 lbs. A liability waiver may be required to participate in this tour. Anyone participating in water activities does so at their own risk and responsibility.

LAH-007 MAUI WHALE WATCHING

Tour Price: $95.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Each year, thousands of humpback whales migrate to Hawaii, and there's no better way to watch the show than on this breathtaking excursion.

Depart directly from the pier aboard a Trilogy Catamaran, a vessel specifically designed for excellent viewing. The waters off Maui attract thousands of humpback whales from November to April, so the chances of seeing these behemoths are great. Humpbacks, which are named for the big arch in their back when they dive, migrate nearly 3,500 miles from their feeding grounds in Alaska to their breeding grounds in Hawaii.

The whales are drawn here for several reasons. Newborn humpbacks don't have a protective layer of blubber and require warm water like Hawaii's to survive. Warm water also protects the whales from their only natural predator-the killer whale, which lives in cold water. Ironically, as conducive as Hawaii's waters are, they are relatively nutrient-free, so the adult whales are fasting here. However, the calves are nursing, each one ingesting 50 to 100 gallons of milk daily.

Although humpbacks dive underwater for 5 to 15 minutes, it's an amazing sight when they come up to breathe. You may see them breaching, tail slapping, or spy hopping, which is when they just poke their heads vertically out of the water to look around. It's a breathtaking spectacle that's not to be missed.

After approximately 90-minutes spent on the water watching for whales, you will return to the pier.

Please note: There is a very limited amount of walking on this tour; however, participants must be able to step between the pier and the catamaran and vice versa, to enter and exit. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Those who suffer from motion sickness should take appropriate precautionary measures. Casual clothing; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen and flat, comfortable walking shoes with a non-slip sole are suggested. While there is a good chance of sighting whales, it is not guaranteed.

LAH-008 PANORAMIC MAUI

Tour Price: $85.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

This wonderful jaunt into Maui's western countryside hits highlights like Iao Valley and still leaves plenty of time afterwards to further explore Lahaina on your own.

Depart from the pier for an inspired driving tour of western Maui. Leaving Lahaina, once an important whaling village and the capital of the Hawaiian kingdom in the early 19th century, you will immediately be struck by the beauty outside of town.

Traveling south along the coast, you will have views of sandy beaches, sparkling turquoise waters and the islands of Lanai and Kahoolawe which lie not too far off shore. You will then head inland, marveling at breathtaking vistas of the West Maui Mountains on one side and the majestic Haleakala Crater on the other, while en route to the phenomenal Iao Valley. The Hawaiian word "Iao" means "cloud supreme," a reference to the white puffs of clouds that often linger about the valley, bringing rain and nourishing the lush, bright green landscape. The valley has always been considered sacred, and Hawaii's high chiefs were buried here in secret hiding places. It's also historically significant as the site of a watershed battle in 1790, when King Kamehameha I defeated an opposing army and unified the Hawaiian Islands.

The most iconic of all the sights here is the Iao Needle, which rises majestically from the valley floor. It is often visible throughout the valley and, during times of war, was used as a lookout.

After completing your scenic loop of Iao Valley, you will travel back to the pier in Lahaina where your tour concludes.

Please note: There is a limited amount of walking on this tour at the Iao Valley to get a better of view of the Iao Needle; however, this is optional. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, can make their own way on and off the coach and have a companion to assist them. Casual clothing and flat, comfortable shoes are suggested.

LAH-009 CATCH A WAVE SURF LESSONS

Tour Price: $135.00

June 15, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

The surf is always up off Lahaina, and this tour teaches you how to ride the waves and experience the thrill of the ancient Hawaiian sport of surfing.

Take a short walk from the pier to the surf school on Lahaina beach. The school's expert instructors have the skills to get anyone up on a surfboard to enjoy the sport firsthand. You will begin on the beach, where you will learn the basics, including how to stand on a surfboard, keep your balance and maneuver.

Before long, you'll catch on and even develop your own style. For instance, some people prefer to ride with their right foot forward, known as "goofy foot," while others feel more comfortable with their left foot forward. There's no right or wrong way-it's up to you.

Once you've got the basics down, you'll enter the water and paddle out to where the waves are breaking. Pick a spot, time a wave, start paddling and jump up on the board. You'll soon see what works and what doesn't and that's the fun of it. You might be surprised by how well you do, even if you're a novice. The excitement of riding a wave is something you'll remember forever, especially in a setting as ideal as Lahaina's beach, where the ancient Hawaiians surfed.

Afterwards, feel free to remain at the beach and relax. You can walk back to the pier on your own, or return at the end of your surfing lesson.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 2-hours of moderate to strenuous activity. Participants should be in good physical condition and be good swimmers who are comfortable in the water. The tour is not available to pregnant guests, wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Additionally, it is not considered suitable for those with back, neck or heart conditions. Guests should wear swimsuits; sunglasses that cannot fall off; sunscreen and appropriate beach footwear along with bringing a towel, cover-up and waterproof camera. Surfboard, wax, leash, water shoes and rash guard tops are included. Minimum age to participate is 5 years old and persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. Participants must sign a liability waiver before being allowed to participate in this tour. Anyone participating in water activities does so at their own risk and responsibility. Photos of your surfing experience will be available for sale after your lesson so it is recommended that you bring money along with you.

NAW-008 WAIMEA CANYON & SPOUTING HORN

Tour Price: $65.00

June 16, 2015 08:30 AMDate:

Discover two of Kauai's most remarkable natural phenomena on this mostly panoramic tour: Waimea Canyon, which resembles a tropical Grand Canyon, and the powerful blowhole Spouting Horn.

Starting off from the pier, you'll commence a scenic 2-hour narrated drive west across the island toward Waimea Canyon, one of the true natural wonders of Kauai. En route, learn about the culture, history and legends of this beautiful "Garden Isle", so nicknamed for its lush tropical forests. Known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," Waimea is a geological wonder more than 10 miles long and filled with crested buttes, rugged crags and deep gorges. Over the millennia, the Waimea River, which originates from Mt. Wailaleale, has carved the canyon out of volcanic rock.

Stopping at the Canyon's lookout point, you'll enjoy a panoramic view of Waimea Canyon and may even see the river winding through the reddish lava bed more than 3,500 feet below. Sometimes, it's a trickle; other times it's a torrent, but the water is always red from the constant erosion of the reddish soil. In fact, Waimea means "reddish water" in Hawaiian.

Re-boarding your coach, it's a picturesque 1-hour drive to Spouting Horn, another natural phenomenon resulting from Kauai's volcanic creation. The blowhole eerily groans like a horn as it spouts water more than 50 feet into the air. According to Hawaiian legend, the sound is caused by a giant lizard that got stuck in the opening while chasing a villager. As you'll see, the groan and spray are actually the result of ocean waves crashing under the shore's lava shelf and being forced out through a small opening.

Following your time at Spouting Horn, you'll return to the pier where your tour concludes.

Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking, mainly at the guests' discretion during the stops. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Guests should be able to sit for extended periods in a coach seat. Casual, weather appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

NAW-001 WAILUA RIVER CRUISE & FERN GROTTO

Tour Price: $95.00

June 16, 2015 09:00 AMDate:

Cruise by riverboat through eastern Kauai's lush hinterlands to the natural wonder of the Fern Grotto, a picturesque prelude to seeing majestic Opaeka'a Falls.

A scenic coach drive brings you to the Wailua River Marina where you'll board a riverboat and meander inland on Hawaii's only navigable river. Relax and enjoy the passing scenery as your guide reveals the area's fascinating history and legends. The first migratory Tahitians settled here in the 12th century and Wailua became the home of Hawaii's early royalty.

As you cruise upriver, you will pass by lush tropical vegetation that creates a truly idyllic island landscape. You may also see kayakers paddling along the calm waters, open grasslands and Mt. Waialeale looming in the background. According to legend, at night ghost warriors walk the ancient river trails to and from the mountain.

Before long, you will arrive at the Fern Grotto, which was formed out of lava rock centuries ago. It's a beautiful setting, cooled by the mists of the waterfall. The fern-covered grotto acts as a natural amphitheater and the acoustics are nothing less than impressive, as you will discover by listening to Hawaiian musicians play traditional wedding songs. The Fern Grotto has long been a popular venue for weddings and it's easy to see why.

After a return cruise down the river, you will re-board your coach and drive into the Valley of the Sleeping Giant. The name derives from the outline of the ridge of nearby Nounou Mountain, which appears to have a giant sprawled across its top. A short walk here affords you a spectacular view of Opaeka'a Falls, where the north branch of the Wailua River cascades over a sheer rock cliff. Afterwards, you will drive back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking, mainly over flat surfaces. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and touring boat, and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. Those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual, weather appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

NAW-007 GARDEN ISLAND WATERFALL TOUR

Tour Price: $165.00

June 16, 2015 09:00 AM, 10:00 AMDate:

Horticulture buffs will love this limited participation tour of idyllic McBryde and Allerton Gardens, which National Geographic's Traveler magazine named one of the world's top 50 must-see attractions.

Departing from the pier, you will drive to the southern tip of Kauai, home to the Allerton and McBryde Gardens, which were created by a Congressional Charter and are now governed by the National Tropical Botanical Garden. First, you'll meander through Allerton Garden, which was initially designed in 1938 by millionaire Robert Allerton and his adopted son, John Gregg. The garden includes open meadows, shady ravines and rugged cliffs, all consisting of fertile volcanic soil. Certain areas are devoted to exotic palms and tropical gingers and you will find hillsides blanketed with fragrant plumeria trees. Colorful bougainvillea spills over the cliffs, and star fruit, Ceylon gooseberry, and horseradish trees flourish in the orchard.

It's a veritable paradise, as is neighboring McBryde Garden, which began to take shape in 1970. It contains the largest collection of Hawaiian plants in existence, many of them extinct in the wild. Several species of plant, such as the "canoe plant," are descendants of ones brought to Hawaii centuries ago by the founding Polynesians, who wanted to ensure that they had plants for food, buildings and medicine.

A tasty deli lunch will be served in the Canoe Gardens, before setting off to see other sights found here, including a serene waterfall and Spouting Horn, a 50-foot-high spray of saltwater caused by the ocean waves rushing under a lava shelf and then exiting through a small hole.

Following your visit, you will rejoin your transportation and return to the pier in Nawiliwili.

Please note: This tour includes approximately 3-hours of moderate walking that includes uneven natural surfaces and gravel paths. Total is distance is approximately 1 1/2 miles. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests or those with mobility concerns. Casual, weather appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

NAW-006 HEAVEN & EARTH - HELICOPTER & NORTH SHORE

Tour Price: $445.00

June 16, 2015 09:15 AMDate:

See some of Kauai's most beautiful scenery; first by soaring overhead in a helicopter, and then by driving along the striking North Shore on this limited participation tour.

From the pier you'll transfer via van to the town of Lihue, where you'll board a modern air-conditioned jet helicopter. During the next 45 minutes, you'll fly over some of Kauai's most dramatic, impossibly beautiful landscapes. Enjoy a bird's-eye view of lush valleys, spectacular waterfalls, and majestic Waimea Canyon on the island's western side.

Continuing on, you'll spend several hours exploring the luxurious Princeville area and lovely Hanalei Town, which is surrounded by fields of taro and emerald-green mountains. Be sure to take a stroll on the town's pier. Constructed in 1892, it gained fame in the classic 1957 film "South Pacific." NAW-003 PANORAMIC KAUAI - KILOHANA PLANTATION & OPAEKA'A FALLS

Tour Price: $85.00

June 16, 2015 09:30 AMDate:

Explore the fascinating history of eastern Kauai by visiting several natural attractions and then riding a train through the grounds of a former sugar cane plantation.

Your tour begins with a short drive to Opaeka'a Falls and the Wailua River, both of which you'll see from roadside lookouts. Opaeka'a means "rolling shrimp" in Hawaiian, a reference to the freshwater crustaceans that were once plentiful here. These spectacular falls cascade down a soaring volcanic-rock cliff and make for a nice photo opportunity.

Next, you'll visit the Wailua River Complex, designated as a National Historic Landmark in 1962.The tranquil Wailua, the only navigable river in Hawaii, is just as extraordinary as it's framed by tropical landscape. Centuries ago, Hawaii's early royalty lived in the area, which was considered sacred. Poli'ahu Heiau, a place of worship that dates back to the 15th century, if not before, is a reminder of that period. Its surrounding walls were constructed without mortar by commoners using rocks from the Wailua River. The ceremonial structures inside were made with perishable materials that have long since decomposed. Nevertheless, it remains an impressive sight to see.

Continuing on, you'll visit Kilohana Plantation and board the train that runs through its grounds. Originally built to transport sugar cane, the train now offers relaxed sightseeing through fields of taro, noni, mango and other exotic Hawaiian crops. After the train ride, enjoy some free time to explore the plantation mansion, a beautiful 16,000-square-foot home furnished with period antiques that sugar baron Gaylord Parke Wilcox built in 1936. For rum connoisseurs, the home also houses an on-site rum tasting room.

Following your time at Kilohana, you'll rejoin your coach and travel back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking, mainly at the guests' discretion during the stops. The tour is available to wheelchair guests who have a collapsible wheelchair, are able to make their own way on and off the coach and train, and have an able-bodied companion to assist them. NAW-005 HOLLYWOOD IN HAWAII - MOVIES AND WATERFALLS

Tour Price: $165.00

June 16, 2015 09:30 AMDate:

Naturally beautiful Kauai has been the setting for some of Hollywood's most famous movies and TV shows, and this tour visits many of those spots, which you're sure to recognize.

It's a relaxing drive from the pier into Kauai's spectacular countryside, a land so beautiful it's frequently featured in motion pictures and television shows. Your coach is probably more appropriately referred to as a "Theater on Wheels" because driving along, you can actually watch some of the scenes shot on Kauai on its surround-sound TV screens. The film clips will play while you're at the very locations where they were shot.

You'll see thundering Wailua Falls, which appears in the opening credits of "Fantasy Island." Nearby Opaeka'a Falls is also well known for its role in the 1960 Jack Lemmon movie "The Wackiest Ship in the Army." Then, there's gorgeous Hanamaulu Bay, where parts of the 1958 film "South Pacific" were filmed, as were many lesser-known movies such as "Voodoo Island," starring Boris Karloff.

Elvis Presley's popular "Blue Hawaii" is considered the most famous movie ever shot in Kauai. It was filmed in the Coco Palms Resort, which has been closed since Hurricane Iniki roared through in 1992. But you'll still have the rare opportunity to visit. Later, you'll see Moloa Bay and Aliomanu, both of which were featured in the pilot for "Gilligan's Island."

Not only does this comprehensive tour showcase a wealth of film locations, you'll hear what the stars did while they were here. It's not all about movies though, because you will also learn about Hawaiian myths and legends, the language and the local flora and fauna.

Before returning to the ship, you'll be treated to a relaxing picnic lunch on Annini Beach, seen in the film "Honeymoon in Vegas."

Please note: This tour includes a varied amount of walking at the stops, including uneven and sandy terrain at the beach stops. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests and those with mobility concerns are cautioned to carefully evaluate their personal level of stamina and ability. Casual, weather appropriate clothing and flat, comfortable walking shoes are suggested.

NAW-002 TUBING THE DITCH

Tour Price: $175.00

June 16, 2015 10:00 AMDate:

Get adventurous by riding an inner tube along a flowing manmade canal that has you traveling down cascading flumes and through several tunnels in the breathtaking Kauai backcountry.

It's a short transfer from the pier into Kauai's emerald-green interior and the historic Hanamaula Ditch. Painstakingly carved by hand out of the gorgeous countryside in the early 1900s, the canal originally served as an irrigation system for the Lihue Plantation, one of Hawaii's oldest sugar cane plantations. It takes approximately 500 gallons of water to produce one pound of sugar, so the canal was essential to business. Nevertheless, by the beginning of this century, demand waned and the plantation closed. Before long though, was re-opened for float trips, as it cuts through some of the island's most beautiful and remote land, land which was never before open to the public.

Upon arrival, you will receive your safety briefing and make your way to the start point. No skills are involved in your ride other than sitting in the center of a large inner tube and going with the flow. The waters, which originate from rainwater off Mount Waialeale, will gently carry you along. Your float travels down approximately two miles of the canal, which is flanked by tropical rainforest and includes some exhilarating flumes and several tunnels. Some of the tunnels are quite lengthy, but you'll still be able to see easily as your headlamp will light the way.

Afterwards, you'll travel to a nearby swimming hole where you will have time to relax, be treated to some complimentary snacks and go swimming in the pristine waters before it's time to head back to the pier.

Please note: This tour includes a limited amount of walking; however the trails can be muddy and slippery and there are several stairs to negotiate to enter the canal system. The tour is not available to wheelchair guests, those with mobility concerns, back problems, or pregnant women. It is not recommended for those who suffer from claustrophobia. Guests must be at least 5 years old and children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. There is a minimum height requirement of 43 inches and the maximum allowable weight is 300 lbs. Swim suits or quick drying shorts and shirts; sun cap; sunglasses; sunscreen; insect repellant; a towel; and flat comfortable walking shoes are suggested. Water shoes and headlamps will be provided. Guests participating in any water activities do so at their own risk and responsibility. The tour operator may require participants to sign a waiver before being allowed to participate in the tour.

After a briefing by certified instructors, you'll harness up and begin your adventure. Zipping along from platform to platform, you'll fly through the air descending the mountainsides, gliding over the valleys, and passing through openings carved out of the tropical landscape. Here, deep in Kauai's verdant interior, the native flora flourishes and the sights are spectacular in every direction. It's as if every acre is blanketed in a different shade of green.
