Vale has undertaken a transformational project to create an integrated view of information across their global mining business.

I’m Bayu Aji, the project manager for One Vale Indonesia. I am from PT Vale Indonesia, the mining company operated in Indonesia producing nickel.

What were the business challenges that led to this project?

Vale was having issues of having the old ERP system that needed to be changed. Vale Global also had an initiative to implement the new ERP, which is the SAP. So, the key objective of the One Vale project, as being initiated by Global, is to have an integrated view of the information across the companies, across the companies around the world

Why did you enjoy working with Accenture?

The team is very well motivated – so they are very knowledgeable, there are several young people very, very knowledgeable in the field. I think this is because of the knowledge management system that Accenture have.

What value did Accenture bring to your business?

One Vale Indonesia, according to our Global CIO, is a successful implementation. From my perspective, it is implemented also with good change management, so it’s not only the technical things that we managed, but if we asked people from Indonesia what changes is coming during the project they really understand about what changes is coming, and then they also understand how to seek help, if there are any issues that occur in the field.
