Oprah just endorsed this Phoenix-made product
You know you've hit it big time if Oprah says you're legitimate.
That's what happened with gLOVE Treat, a therapeutic paraffin wax treatment for hands and feet.
Oprah Winfrey
The product made it onto the O List, Oprah Winfrey's list of consumer products and brands she
supports, which will debut in the January 2016 issue that hits newsstands Dec. 15.
“When Oprah Winfrey acknowledges your product, you know you are on to something great,”
said Kevin Weber, CEO of Paraffin International Inc., the Arizona company that manufactures and
markets the gLOVE Treat brand. “We feel that being named to the O List is a testament to gLOVE
Treat’s effectiveness and innovation.”
The gLOVE Treat was created by Deanna Montrose, owner of the award-winning Phoenix salon,
Scissors Rox Paper.

ed with a need to find a less-messy way to deal with paraffin wax, and ended up making a
popular magazine's must-have list.
gLOVE Treat was born when stylist and business owner Deanna Montrose got sick and
tired of the mess of working with the sticky, gooey wax used to soften and smooth
skin. After working for a quarter century with the stuff, Montrose knew there had to be a
better way.
Montrose found a way to encase the wax, and add some lavender for aroma and coconut
oil to give a nice deep moisturizer. Her customers loved it.
"As soon as I slipped my hand in it, it just kind of coated it," said Amy Peterson, who was
trying the gLOVE Treat for the first time. "The first thing I noticed was the smell, the
lavender smell. It smelled wonderful."
The gLOVE Treat looks similar to a disposable glove. How it works is simple: Place the
gLOVE in a microwave for around two minutes to heat the wax. Then, the user slips their
hands in the gLOVEs for around 15 minutes. Once the gLOVEs are removed, the hands
should feel smoother and softer.
"I've had this idea in my head for many years, but truthfully," Montrose said, "I've always
been a salon owner and hairstylist ... but I've never been a creator or inventor."
Which is not bad for someone who isn't an inventor. Her creation garnered the attention of
the editors at O Magazine. The Oprah Winfrey publication added the gLOVE Treat to their
2016 "O List," a list of products that the editors feel we can't live without.
"I think that is a testament to the fact that we have an amazing products," Montrose
said. "It makes me proud that I created it and I feel like I changed the industry of paraffin
wax and paraffin wax treatment forever ... And that's a treatment that's been out since the
1950s but that's never changed."
It has changed now.

Local salon owner's gLOVE Treat product honored by Oprah Winfrey
PHOENIX (KSAZ) - It's a new product made by a Phoenix salon owner and it just received a big
honor from Oprah Winfrey!
The gLOVE Treat is a therapeutic paraffin wax treatment for your hands and feet. The product
recently earned a spot on Oprah Magazine's O-List, which has Winfrey's favorite consumer products
and gift items.
The maker of gLOVE Treat says it's easier to use than other paraffin wax treatments, which are said
to be messy and unsanitary.
"No mess, no fuss… sanitary.. and it saves time. Two minutes in the microwave. You can travel with
it. You could take it to the beach, take it skiing, or if you have sore, stiff joints you can use it and the
end of the day and have a spa treatment at home," said Deanna Montrose, owner of Scissors, Rox,
Paper.
You can see the product in Oprah Magazine's January 2016 issue, which hits news stands on
December 15th.

Oprah puts her name behind a lot of great products, but when I saw that she had an at-home paraffin
hand treatment on her January O List, I was skeptical. I really couldn’t imagine Oprah sitting on a chaise
lounge in her billion-dollar mansion while attempting to moisturize her hands in some plastic gloves.
Does gLOVE Treat actually work? Or did Ms. Winfrey simply put them on her list to round it out with
something interesting and different?
I had to put them to the test. So, I popped a pair of gLOVE Treat gloves in the microwave, waited until
the heat indicator told me they were the right temperature, turned on The Bachelor, and sat down to
see what would happen with my hands. Are they worth the $36.99 price tag, or is this just another
beauty bust? Find out below.
Pros: Where do I even begin when there are so many? First of all, you feel like you’re visiting a spa from
the comfort of your couch, and the warm gooey gloves feel super luxurious and relaxing after a long day.
Plus, they’re reusable up to four times, meaning if you use them once a week that’s a month of total
hand moisturization. They’re also made of all natural coconut oil, paraffin wax, and essential oils, so
you’re getting great results without putting gross chemicals on your skin. After the 15-minute wait
period, you simply massage the leftover oils into your hands and you’re good to go. My hands were
extremely hydrated for days after using this treatment; a feat not often achieved a windy, cold winter.
Overall I give gLOVE Treat two moisturized thumbs up.
Cons: You can’t really do anything with your hands while wearing them. I attempted to read the
Victoria’s Secret Swimsuit catalog with these bad boys on and couldn’t turn a single page. I also tried to
lift a glass of wine to my mouth with no luck. However, 15 minutes is a very short period of time and the
results are definitely worth it.
