Opportunity Knocks Psychologist/Psychotherapist FSWS Collecve Agreement Grade 2 Public Call Internal Ref No: HR/2020/23/EXT/A Jobsplus Permit No : Full-Time 268/2018 The Posion The Foundaon for Social Welfare Services invites applicaons for full me psychologist/psychotherapist for the new iniave to be managed by Agenzija Appogg entled Opportunity Knocks. Opportunity Knocks (OK) is a project-based iniave that has the mandate of supporng vulnerable young adults into securing resources needed for independent living. The scope of the project is to offer the target audience with the necessary praccal, logiscal and therapeuc support that shall assist them in enhancing their skill set to be in a posion to successfully live on their own. The project offers a mulfaceted strategy which shall target the presenng situaon from a preventave, educaonal and therapeuc standpoint; offering high impact, service use centred intervenons that will ulmately mobilise the internal and external opportunies that will support independent living. The posion shall be offered on a definite contract for the duraon of the project. This project is funded by EEA Grants 2014 – 2021. The Role The role of the psychologist/psychotherapist shall be to acvely parcipate in the acons plans designed to support the vulnerable young adults. The psychologist/psychotherapist shall be tasked with conducted therapeuc assessments of the client and to determine the therapeuc needs of the individual. The psychologist/psychotherapist will then be expected to conduct a therapeuc intervenon aimed to support the person mobilise the internal resources to lead healthy and posive lifestyles. The role of the psychologist/psychotherapist is to support the service users in enhancing their awareness of their issues so they can build resilience and skills necessary to sustain independent life. As is customary, the psychologist/psychotherapist shall be responsible to maintain their records and to aend any meeng which can help in their intervenon. The psychologist/psychotherapist shall also be part of a muldisciplinary team, which shall be expected to address every situaon from a mul- perspecve strategy, which aims to improve the insight into the complexies of the problems presented. The Person Eligible candidates should possess at least one of the following: Clinical Psychology and hold a warrant to pracce the profession of a Psychologist in Malta. Counselling Psychology and hold a warrant to pracce the profession of a Psychologist in Malta. Masters Degree in the field of Psychotherapy/Gestalt and be in possession/or in the process of obtaining a relevant warrant that regulates the pracce with the Council for the professionals complimentary to medicine. Candidates over twenty one (21) years of age shall be given preference as the job entails working with adolescents as well as children. Addionally candidates must be fluent in Maltese and English to be eligible for an interview. Qualificaons and experience claimed must be supported by cerficates and/or tesmonials. Applicants in possession of a foreign qualificaon/s are to produce with their applicaon, a recognion statement on comparability of qualificaons issued by the Malta Qualificaon Recognion Informaon Centre (MQRIC). In addion candidates are requested to submit an updated CV together with a recent police conduct, two (2) reference leers and a copy of their cerficates.
