EMPOWER
http://empowerproject.eu/
• Goal: to reduce the use of conventionally-fuelled vehicles (CFV) in cities integrating technological and socio-economic approaches.
• Create a set of tools for the transport industry and policy-makers. These tools will empower them to understand, choose and implement evidence-based and
cost-effective policy interventions and changes in
infrastructure, i.e. shifting to other transport modes and vehicle types, promoting sharing and self-organisation in users.
• The project brings together transport engineers and
infrastructure specialists, cognitive psychologists,
economists, specialists in traffic behaviour and
organisational psychology.

GrowMeUp is coordinated by the University of Coimbra and include a consortium formed by eight partners from 6 EU countries: Portugal, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Spain and France.
The GrowMeUp Project aims to provide an answer to the demographic change challenge, by providing an affordable service robotic system able to learn the older persons needs and habits over time and enhance (‘grow up’/scale up) its functionality to compensate for the elder’s degradation of abilities, to support, encourage and engage the older persons to stay longer active, independent and socially involved, in carrying out their daily life at home.

FOOD (SC2)
SFS-29-2017: Socio-economics in ecological approaches
Based on case studies and representative farm typologies, proposals will involvedrawing up an economic, environmental and social comparison of identifiedproduction systems implementing ecological approaches and conventional farmsin the same sectors of production. […] Economic performance and delivery ofpublic goods will be evaluated on the basis of different indicators at farm, farm-group and territorial levels. Specific emphasis will be placed on analysis of thelabour productivity in terms of the amount and value of private and public goodsproduced. Incomes in the different systems will be analysed on the basis ofmarket and public payments. Issues related to gender differences anddemographic characteristics and patterns in farming communities should beinvestigated if relevant.

ENERGY (SC3)
LCE-32-2016: European Platform for energy-related SSH research
Within the scope of this call a platform for SSH research communities in the energyfield will be set up at European level, aiming to integrate and build upon theexperience of already existing networks and initiatives. The platform will seek tostructure and enhance the energy-related dialogue at EU level among the differentSSH stakeholders, as well as with other energy-research communities, creatinggreater inter-disciplinarity and fostering knowledge and information sharing amongvarious disciplines. It will promote the generation of novel, evidence-basedresearch designed to inform and influence relevant policy processes, particularlywith respect to the role of SSH aspects (including gender) in hindering oraccelerating the transition to a low-carbon energy system in Europe. The platformwill also be a source of specific expertise and advice to EU policymakers, such as onhow best to embed SSH aspects in H2020 energy calls, as well as how to address theSSH dimension in EU energy initiatives more broadly

ICT
LEIT ICT-23-2017: Interfaces for accessibility
Support the development of intelligent, affordable and personalisedinterfaces and affective computing for people with cognitive disabilitiesto enable them to undertake everyday tasks and in particular to improvecommunication and facilitate the uptake and use of digital services.Solutions should recognise user's abilities and be able to detectbehaviours and recognise patterns, emotions and intentions in real lifeenvironments. A mix of expertise is necessary including from relevantsocial sciences and humanities disciplines (e.g. cognitive sciences, psychology, disability studies) and due attention will be paid to thediversity of users and users' needs (e.g. age, gender, socio-economicstatus)
