Third Quarter 2015

July 1, 2015 – September 30, 2015

General Departmental Summary

The Operations Department directed their energy mainly on regular maintenance this quarter. This quarter

there were no proposals sent to tender. Several capital projects are currently under way. The Pincher

Creek raw water pump house structure has been installed and the internal systems are underway. The

project is expected to be finalized on November 10, 2015. The historic fence replacement at the Lebel

Mansion is in progress and the water and wastewater treatment projects are at the brink of starting.

Over the summer months we experienced higher than average temperatures and the previous winter did

not provide adequate snow pack causing the Town to establish voluntary water restrictions. Citizens were

asked to refrain from watering lawns and gardens in the heat of the day and be aware of the duration and

volume they were consuming. This caused some delays with annual programs including water main

unidirectional flushing and the release of effluent from the wastewater lagoons.
