:-ere fitted s-ould 5e periodicall cleaned and lu5ricated to ensure t-at it s:ings freel

and closes properl :it- a good seal.

"-e ri,er 5und slopes adjacent to t-e cul,ert s-ould 5e 0ept clear of trees and 5rus- to

allo: uni+peded inspection of t-e inlet and outlet of t-e cul,ert.

All inspections s-ould include a c-ec0 for signs of sloug-ing :-ic- could 5loc0 t-e inlet

to t-e cul,ert. ot- t-e inlet and t-e outlet s-ould 5e c-ec0ed for signs of erosion or

under+ining of t-e structure.

All gates s-ould 5e inspected periodicall for e?cessi,e :ear or deterioration.

Concrete inlet and outlet structures s-ould 5e inspected for e,idence of crac0ing or

spalling. Concrete pipe cul,erts s-ould 5e inspected for e?cessi,e joint +o,e+ent loss
