Exactly how did the West German Bundeswehr forces engage the East German Democratic

Peoples Army in Lubeck, was the question I found chewing my mind in 2007. I combed through some

Cold War documents to find each time there was considerably nothing on the Cold War historically. The

social studies on those times details everything stylish and fashionable, everything in vogue. Everyday life

did’nt enter into the minds of the socialists, the very thought this era had any direct bearing on working

during the day or time of peoples lives was a presentation of what is to be thought on the matters politically

correct. They got rid of American History in 1978-1979. In 78’ it was American history, by 79’ it was the

previous American history book and the additional Social Studies book, buy 1980 the American history

book disappeared.

It did’nt get better in seeing the “instructions” of how to view Asian, African, and European

cultures with the now discarded American cultural perspective – the Nation went blind. The saying that

identifying a communist was easy, they never had anything good to say about America, it was to be

understood from the other perspective, if it was foreign, it was good. And that was occurring during the

Cold War, after, it remained seemingly as a uncultured kind of gratification in their justification that the

War ended because of their influence growing over the years. Their hardships and perserverance against

old methods given infinite views from different perspectives. That was the street talk. The lack of specifics

and details of boundless facts was ghostly, the saying was “Don’t you know what you’ve done?”

The HPS Simulation North German Plain 85’ displays that Sector of an Area from the European

Theater Strategic Map view. But it does’nt display how exactly nor what exactly happened. If this War had

been entered into then how and why would the U.S. and NATO have won isn’t shown. In the Scenario

Menu there was one called “Werewolf”, that got me interested – and it did’nt work. So I called HPS and

they said the writed/designer had’nt completed it, but they could put me in contact with someone who

could help. I E-Mailed the problem and was astonished of the disregard I found in possible actions on the

matter of Berlin. It’s importance was completely overlooked 50 years later. Why did’nt anybody know the

significance of Berlin? Berlin was pivotal, the “Werewolf” scenario I hoped would give me my first look

into a possible course of action to liberate it. The conduct of a War in Europe during the 1980’s is not

dicernable if it’s discarded. I would be acquiescing to the Soviets during the Berlin Crisis of the 1980’s,

was compromising Washington next? If so then Paris and London are gone the way of Berlin. So who’s

left?

It’s bad enough they negotiated away the standing on what happened in the Revolutionary War,

the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, World War I, World War II,

the Korean War, and during Viet Nam everyone can see the 1960’s and 70’s dopes tripping understanding.

In the Cold War the battle did’nt occur after readying for battle for half a century, so trying to determine

what would have happened could’nt be easier – Eeeeeeeeeee!, wrong.

Had to get Simulators on an American global perspective in air, land, and sea. It’s taking it from

the top, by the numbers: 1) Does the American political Flexible Response Policy, Pentagon Combined

Arms Strategy, and Army Air-Land Battle Doctrine prevail over the Soviet Operational Maneuver Groups

Battle Doctrine? That answer starts in Berlin and progresses into Lubeck.

The “World in Conflict” game came out without much interest in me, it did’nt focus on

determinations, it orienteered the player into the “Prevail However Genre”. I did read it had been

augmented with a Editor, unlike the game getting all the attention the editor I got by buying the game. And

it was what I was looking for – it can recreate fundamental displays of locations and the disposition and

movement of forces. I can run through the loss or win in HPS Danube front 85’ generally, and reposition

and time my forces movements based on determinations of actions in Lubeck or any other location I want

to recreate. The gameplay is still oriented to all out combat but I can parameter the flow of battle to

consider the tactics within a location so it’s less freewheeling and more objective. And it’s the best I can

find so far in tactical editing.

With that it was time to do a run through, so I chose a place, time, and battle I was familiar with. If

it went well, it would recreate a moment in time as it occurred. And knowing that moment I could decide if

it was adequate for what I intended it for. If it lies, I’ll know it and identify it. Wars are won from the

ground up not the birds eye view down.

So I did take the idea from thought to projecting a display including the expected small town

representations in group form or an illustrated a Set. The setting can be anywhere in which a community

arises from simple settlers growing outside an urban area and evolving. And conditional interactions

entwine the foundations roots with opportunities of colonial developments. The essential needs are

produced and the issue becomes manufacturing and wants of an increasing population for the care and

welfare of “Carpet Baggers”. I schemed easily referable and a chronology of precedents, that, in the end

reformed this schematic based upon independent squares and rectangles established in originality and after

arranged fundamentally.

The the old homes, the ol’ farm, the ol’ lumber yard, the ol’ church (the new church has tables and

bar-b-que’s next to the ol’ cemetery), the ol’ barn (floor became the town storage and is now the City

Dump: under construction). The evolution of a farm transformed into an airfield for crop dusters, there’s an

ol’ watermill before the underground water mains were prepositioned in the the ol’ ditch, and the frog

pond’s been drained for the cement foundation of the power plant.

The old town is the new town and the new town is just an offshoot of the old town. The new town

developed into Municipal, Industrial Park, Commercial, and Residential sections, and the offshoot is the

private homes, church, and school, with modern kitchens in place of fast food opposite in the commercial

section. I deliberately gave it an 1823 parallel or post 1812-1814 but pre-1861 taste manifest. The town

militia now has prepositioned barracks and equipment storage, a pre-camp area developable into a pre-fort

– “Betty” the Blunderbuss by the fireplace is a rack of assault rifles. The militia was superceded by the

Town Sheriff, now the Department of Public Saftey with a new Canine Crimes Unit on duty in the

Municipal, off duty in the Industrial, and On-Call in the Residential Sections.

The woods became the Town Park, now used as the command center of the facilities and human

resources.

In that focus, the dispersion of capital. Because the population grew fabrication expanded to wants

so I decided on one large assembly plant to keep them in thirds all together for 8 hour shifts. The paydays

go across the street where their taxed and City Hall gets it’s resident savings money back from it’s

investment loans as majority elected in drives by “friends-of-the-court” from the idea’s of the new class of

“upwardly mobile” globe trotters who dragged themselves out of the gutter to become rich enough to start

moving into “New Town”.

The Industrial Park is franchised and developing into Corporate purchased subsidiaries. The roads are

expanded to link with highways, transportation maintenance is open for the benefit of small cars and in

conjunction large trucks, the natural land behind the school playground has been cleared for processed and

refined materials container storage next to 2 new gas stations just 5 minutes from fast food drive-thru’s.

And parking meters are installed everywhere. All enjoy consumables from one large supermarket for both

sides of the story be it from the street or the top of the curb.

Municipal construction and town improvement projects are evident in this election year – they have been

for months, due to faulty initial estimates (fired-all the old boys working so government hiring is finally up

with loyalty to equal opportunity purging old cronies) and cost-time overruns, a flat tax with deregulated

revenues and corporate deregulation, and those nasty rumors about insider info, fraudulent bidding, and

pandering or catering to favorites – as yet unfounded.

The old Town Fire Department never relocated inside of the City but will once land expansion is

started again (“breathing room”) and their currently bogged in a reverse discrimination suit. The road

linking the hospital to the Municipal section will be complete upon passing new anti-malpractice legislation

as part of the City health care overhaul brought to you by your neighborhood corporate sponsors working

hard with green planets and big blue marbles. And don’t even get me started about Social Security.
