1. Machine Password

1.1 General

In case the machine, once a recent-generation control has been powered up, issuesan error message concerning an outdated user authorization or refuses access, the fol-lowing instructions explain how to re-enter the machine password.

1.2.1 Machine reports machine password conflict

Machine password conflicts are made evident once the machine is started.

• Switch on the control at the main switch.

⇒ While starting up, the control indicates Machine initialization ... onthe screen.

⇒ If an error has occurred, the appropriate message is issued now.

Avoid adjusting the date unnecessarily because this can lead tothe loss of your access authorization. You can adjust the dateonce by ±1 day.

⇒ The message indicates the remaining production period (expires ondate/time indicated by xx.xx.xx / xx:xx) or that your user authoriza-tion has already expired.

From four weeks before expiry of the user authorization, a messageis displayed each time the machine is switched on and again at mid-day. The user authorization expires at midday on the indicated date.

• Contact your ZSK representative or the ZSK service department; you willneed the following information for the form:

- Customer name:- Machine No.: from type plate- Machine No.: from password dialog (3.1)- Enabled until: error message (2.2)- Error No.: error message (2.1)

1.2.2 Enabling the machine – LCD

Once you have obtained a new password from your ZSK representative or di-rect from ZSK, proceed as follows to enter it in the machine:

• Switch on the machine at the main switch.

⇒ The control starts up and displays the Machine screen.

• Press [MENU].

⇒ The Machine main menu appears on the screen.

• Press button [5].

Check the system date before entering the new password.

• Press button [2].

⇒ The password input menu, Machine information, appears on thescreen.

Enter the new machine password here.

• Enter all three parts of the password.

• Check the entry again.

• Confirm the entry with [RETURN].

⇒ If the password has been entered correctly, the system takes youback to the Service menu.

A message appears if the entry was not made correctly. You are giv-en the opportunity to enter and confirm the password again.

Your machine is now enabled and your user authorization has been updated.

Enter the new machine password here.

• Select the function [A] Password 1 and enter the first part of the password(11 characters).

• Press [Alt]+[B] Password 2 to move to the next box; enter the second part ofthe password (11 characters)

• To enter the third part of the password (10 characters), press the short-cut[Alt]+[C] Password 3.

⇒ Successful implementation of the new password is indicated by theavailability of the function New password.

• Select the function [D] New password.

A message appears if the entry was not made correctly. You are giv-en the opportunity to enter and confirm the password again.

Your machine is now enabled and your user authorization has been updated.
