ACADEMIC EXCELLENCEAs a leadership institute, Valley Forge seeks to educate, train, and equip students for excellence in college and future career success through a values-based, rigorous academic curriculum, focused on

critical thinking, problem solving, and professionalism.

PERSONAL MOTIVATIONOur academic structure and military model elicits each individual’s

innate drive and tenacity. By achieving personal goals, young people gain self-confidence and the desire for continued success.

CHARACTER DEVELOPMENTPersonal accountability, responsibility, ethical behavior, spiritual

values, and service to community and country instill all with a moral compass to prepare them to face life’s challenges.

LEADERSHIPBy placing youth in decision-making positions of authority, Valley Forge outfits them with the democratic and managerial skills they

need to be responsible citizen leaders.

PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENTValley Forge strives to improve the health, self-confidence, and

physical abilities of every person through an integrated program of physical education and athletic competition.

CORNERSTONES5SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1928 AN EDUCATION AT VALLEY FORGE MILITARY ACADEMY & COLLEGE

IS BUILT UPON THE FOLLOWING:

Located at the northwest corner of the Main Area, the Chapel is situated on the highest point of the grounds. Its graceful spire

reaches 110 feet heavenward and its carillon can be heard for a distance of five miles. A profound tribute to the cadets of Valley Forge who gave their lives for their country, the Chapel features

a great deal of ecclesiastical ware generously donated by families and friends in honor or in memory of loved ones. Such ware

includes the altar, organ, baptismal font, pews, and stained-glass windows. As the Chapel neared completion in 1951, President

Harry S. Truman presented the cornerstone from the White House to the school. Valley Forge Military Academy & College (VFMAC)

is nonsectarian and the Corps of Cadets includes all faiths. Weekly Chapel service is typically held on Sunday during the school year

at 11:00 A.M. Speakers at Sunday Chapel include prominent clergymen of different faiths, recognized leaders in the fields of

business, education, national affairs, and, on occasion, members of VFMAC faculty and administrative staff.

An Invitation...The first official function hosted by Col John C. Church, Jr., USMCR

and Mrs. Mary Kay Church in “Crossed Sabres” (the President’s official residence) is a reception for members of the Society of the Golden

Sword on Friday, September 30, as part of Recognition Weekend. Those who join the Society in the coming weeks are invited to attend the

September 30 reception.

Securing Valley Forge’s FutureAs Colonel Church assumes the Presidency of Valley Forge Military

Academy and College, he graciously invites you to join him in providing today’s youth with the brightest future possible. “This is not a challenge I can take on alone. It is the ultimate team assignment, and a challenge in which we will need the support of alumni, parents, and friends – as

volunteers, promoters of the Forge, and as donors.”

While gifts of any amount are important and demonstrate a commitment to The Forge, it is the larger, annual gifts that have greatest

impact. Annual Golden Sword membership begins at the $1,000 leadership level, and through the Forge Fund they are used to meet our most pressing needs including scholarships and academic and

technology infrastructure.
