Selling your home in Brandermill?
Here are a few steps to follow:
1. Ensure you are in compliance with the Residential Design Standards and BCA GoverningDocuments. Spruce up the driveway and front yard for curb appeal, clean the exterior ofthe mailbox since this is the first thing potential buyers will see. Questions? [email protected].
2. Order a Disclosure Package once you have a contract, get the form here. Fill out formand email to [email protected]. State law requires the seller of theproperty in a community association to provide an association disclosure packet to thebuyer. The association will produce a disclosure package within 14 days of the request.OR the seller may request a rush for an additional fee and receive the disclosure with a 5business days. The seller or the authorized agent may request that the disclosurepackage be delivered to the buyer. It is the responsibility of the seller/owner to ensure thebuyer receives a copy of a current disclosure packet as outlined in the POA Act. Reviewthe full details of the state statute here.
3. Provide BCA with a settlement statement. In order for the BCA to transfer the propertyand change the assessment billing to the new owner of the property, the BCA officeneeds to receive the settlement statement showing the legal transfer of property alongwith fees collected at closing.
4. BCA Sign policies. Per Residential Design Standard 8.8.1: One “For Sale” sign, notexceeding two feet by two feet in size may be placed on the front yard of the lot for sale.

The BCA Staff has been diligently working on the grounds and maintenance of our community.This past week we have continuously worked to enhance the beauty of our community. Here isa list of tasks completed:
Wiped down,cleaned all chairs, cleanedbathrooms, blew off and cleaned decks at allof the poolsRepaired three lifeguard standsRepaired the water slide at St. LedgersMoved and set up additional tables and chairsat pools to accommodate membershipBlew off all walking trailsPruned back several sections of HarbourPointe Parkway to create safer crosswalksand driving conditionsMinor reparations at the MarinaContinued mowing common areas and along bike pathsStained the Observation Decks at Litchfield Bluff and Five SpringsRuppert finished up all Spring flowers around Community.

Safety Traffic Odor Protection (S.T.O.P.)Proposal for a NEW Fueling Station Near Brandermill
Chesterfield County General Services Assistant Director, Al Pace, filed an application with theChesterfield County Planning Department Jane Peterson, the planning manager.Case #564 references an unmanned gas station with above ground tanks; specifically a 10,000diesel, 5,000 gas and 1,000 propane tanks to be placed behind the Old Clover Hill High Schoolat 13900 Hull Street Road, Midlothian Virginia 23112. All county school buses, police cars andother county vehicles will come to this station for fueling. We have been told this could be asmany as 150 VEHICLES at any given time day or night. There are several concerns herebesides the noise, traffic congestion, decrease in property value and health and safety hazards.If approved, this could have a catastrophic effect on ALL Brandermill residents using the Swift
Creek Reservoir for water.
The Brandermill Members will have a Special Meeting June 13 at 7 pm in the HarbourPoint Clubhouse (5710 Harbour Pointe Road, Midlothian VA 23112) to discuss the further detailsabout this potentially damaging situation.

BMW Lions Club Donates $12,000
Last week, at the Brandermill-Midlothian–Woodlake Lions ClubBoard meeting, they distributed $12,000 to charities that
support the visual and hearing impaired and Juvenile Diabetes.Some of the organizations donated to were Leader Dogs forthe Blind, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Old Dominion EyeFoundation, Lions 24B Hearing Aid Fund, and JuvenileDiabetes Research as well as five other worthy charitableorganizations.
The BMW Lions Club would like to thank all of the residentswho supported their fund raisers: the Spring and Fall BassFishing Tournaments and Fish Fry, the annual All You CanEat Summer Crab Fest and White Cane in the Fall. The BMWLions along with the Powhatan Lions have scored and recycled
almost 1500 pair of eye glasses that will go to Central and South America on specific missiontrips to help those who can’t afford to purchase their own eyeglasses.

Class of 2019 Set to Graduate June 3-7
Approximately 4,500 Chesterfield County Public Schools students will receive their high schooldiplomas during graduation ceremonies June 3-7 at Virginia State University’s (VSU) Multi-purpose Center, 20809 Second Avenue in Ettrick, and at Virginia Commonwealth University’s(VCU) Siegel Center, 1200 W. Broad Street in Richmond.
Tickets are required to attend each high school graduation. Graduations at VSU and VCU willbe streamed live online at http://mychesterfieldschools.com. Graduations at VCU will beshown live on Comcast Channel 96.
