“WOMEN AGAINST VIOLENT EXTREMISM” BY MUTAKALLIM

AIM

To increase women’s understanding and awareness of VE in Jalal-Abad and Chui

regions in order that they can make a stand against it.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

1. 100 women of the target communities will gain a better understanding of therisks of VE and means of prevention and will strengthen their leadershipcapabilities.

2. 20 women leaders and 6 local communities representatives will be providedwith tools to respond to radicalization.

3. Women will share experiences, gain self-confidence in their abilities andenhance their status in the family and in the community, becoming lesssusceptible to be radicalized.

Creation of 2 Resources Centersbased on Mutakallim offices premises- events and activities aimed at theawareness and prevention of VEamong women and youth.

Training of 20 women-leader on therisks of radicalization and VE, meansof prevention, mechanisms ofidentification and response to earlysigns of radicalization.

Income generating activities will beimplemented for 30 women selectedas the most vulnerable.

The trained women-leader willenable 100 vulnerable women toraise voice through discussion clubsabout problematic issues, conflicts,women rights and religion.

Initiation of a multi-sectoralpractitioners working group to mapthe existing counter narratives andrelated initiatives in the country anddevelop effective narratives tocounter VE in multiple Internet-friendly formats.

AIM

To strengthen the resilience of Tajik students and migrants to the narrative and

recruitment of VE groups by promoting the use of a positive youth development

(PYD) curriculum among schools, civil society actors and the national government.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

1. Youth are more aware of the narrative and methods used by VE recruiters andable to engage critically.

2. The knowledge level about the strategies used by extremist recruiters and CVEapproaches is increased among CS actors working with Tajik migrants in Russia.

3. Schools, communities and national government are made aware of the benefitsof a PYD approach to CVE.

To promote social inclusion of vulnerable youth and prevent their radicalization

through education, dialogue and civic engagement.

SPECIFIC OUTCOMES

1. The awareness of the dangers of radical ideas and critical skills are enhancedamong youth of high schools and universities.

2. Civic engagement of young people is fostered through a volunteer work campand youth community-based initiatives.

3. Positive behavioral models are promoted through the performance of atheatrical scenario on radicalization.
