MENNIN - KAWASH PROPERTY

THE MENNIN/KAWASH CLAIM GROUP comprises some 150 contiguous claims staked and recorded in December 1991 and January 1992 as a direct result of encouraging results from our 1991 OPAP Program. It is a joint 50/50 partnership property between Alex Kozowy and Alex Glatz.

After some discussion with two major Mining Companies it was decided by the partners to apply for OPAP funding to assist in a modest exploration program for the Property. This program would include actively prospecting, sampling1 , establishing 10 miles of grid, running geophysics and generally up-grade the Property's potential for economic minerals.

The encouraging tungsten assay, (1.51#)» the higher than background cobalt assay, (.05#)» plus the reported economic value copper and nickel assays reported from past programs point the highly altered and sheared zone on and adjacent to the west boundary of the Revell Lake Batholith as a very favorable exploration target. The claim group straddles this very favorable geological structure.

THE PROPERTYi

LOCATION AND ACCESS;

The claims are located some 3 * miles ESE of the town of Dryden. An all-weather gravel road runs south from Borups Corner on the Trans- Canada Highway and gives excellent access to the claims. These claims are situated on claim map Kawashegamu^ Lake G-2585 and Revell Lake, G-2558. It is planned to use this writer's cabin, located on Brown Lake for an exploration base. (see Property location Map).

HISTORY»

The Sakoos Gold Mine and the Tabor Lake Gold Mine were the only producing Mines in the general area of the Property. A very limited amount of small scale gold production has been carried out by this author on hij' Property at Brown Lake, located at the north sector of this claim group. Although significent gold values were encountered at Church Lake in last year's OPAP Program it is felt that the size of the discovery makes it questionable as an economic situation.

Canadian Nickel, Falconbridge; and Selco carried out exploration on the three gabbro-diorite bodies located in the west portion of the Property between 1950 and 1970.

The Property was also included in a geological assessment of the region done by Kel Hartley and Associates of Thunder Bay for Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1950's. This report also gives economic copper and nickel assays from a showing located some 500 feet east of the south bay of Kawashegamuk Lake.

The area was also mapped fcy Charlie Blackburn of the OGS in 1981. In the conclusions of their report they recommend that further base metal exploration is warranted at the margin of mafic to intermediate intrusives and in particular in zones of intense deformation and shearing which is prevalent at the margin of the Revell Lake Batholith and in good part is encompassed within our claim group.

They also go on to conclude that exploration and prospecting for gold should also be conducted in these shear zones, fault zones, porphry and fold hinges.

The 1991 OPAP summer program was carried oii; in this region by the author.

GEOLOGY;

Two elliptical shaped intrusions of folliated diorite to quartz diorite are exposed in the SE part of Kawashegamuk Lake. There are also several irregular shaped felsic intrusions and felsic dikes in the area which are sheared and carbonatized and somewhat cericitized. The metavolcanics around these felsic intrusions are strongly altered with a characteristic rus/ty-brown weathering color. The alteration event is presumed to be pretectonic. The basal metavolcanics which predominate the geology of the claim group are intruded by the massive granodiorite of the Revell Lake Batholith on the east boundary of the claim group. It is this fault/shear contact zone we believe to be an excellent exploration target.

Blackburn also states in his 1981 report that the NE-SW trending shear zone at Kawashegac!"!; Lake may be considered a tectonic boundary between the Boyer Lake group and the underlying meta volcanics of the Kawashegamuk Lake group and that the contact (west) of the Revell Lake Batholith with these supracrustal rocks is in part faulted.

1992 WORK PROGRAM

My 1992 proposed program included linecutting. prospecting, sampling for gold content, stripping supervision, trenching and blasting.

Work Porceedure -

As the total claim area was vast and our funds limited, it was decided to split the work program for the Property as follows -

Grid cut and chained on claims 1161250. 1161251, 1161252 and 1133731 by Alex Kozowy, assisted for two days by Ted and Paul Gruette for the chaining. A lex Glatz - did Mag - VLF surveys and sampled the grid area.

The majority of the Grass Roots prospecting was performed by myself working the Property from north to south and sampling for gold onany interesting occurance located. Any interesting looking areas which had the possibility of hosting base metals, tungsten or fluorite and/or any other possible economic commodity were referred to Alex Glatz for follow-up.

My 1992 Program was broken down as follows -

APRIL 24-29

Traverses to locate old trail, blazing and flagging to Spear Lake shaft area. Cleaned old pits and prospected the vicinity. Re-drilled and blasted the 3M wide qtz. carbonate zone in several places over a 70M strike length, cleaned the trenches and sampled. This zone hosted a stringery grey quartz , sugary in composition and sparsly mineralized with po., and py. The host rock was a medium grained granodiorite. See Appendix "F".

MAY 4th - JUNE 9th

Twenty-nine man-days cutting and chaining the survey grid on claims 1161250, 1161251. 1161252 and 1133731. I was assisted for two days with the chaining by Paul and Ted Gruette. See A. Glatz report No. OPAP 92-280 for details of surveys completed on this grid.

JUNE llth - 20thBrushed out, blazed and flagged trail into the Oldberg Lake area.

Prospecting traverses in the shaft area south of Oldberg Lake, dug around in the shaft muck for samples, cleared off the 2.5M wide Q.v. for 30M, drilled and blasted, sampled. There was visible Mo, Py, Cpy and Fl in the quartz samples.

I then traversed north east of the lake to locate the old pits and trenches reported there. After locating same I cleaned, drilled and blasted, sampling for gold. Similar mineralization was encountered as at the shaft south of the lake. See Appendix

JUNE 22nd - 24th

Through prospecting traverses I located what appears to be a sizeable quartz deposit on claim # 1144881. Blazed and flagged trail to location for bulldozer access. June 23-24 supervised stripping of the deposit. See Appendix "c*.

JUNE 29th - JULY 5thNight tested all located pits and trenches on claims 1144882. 1144883. 1161270 and 11612250 with the ultra-violet lamp. See Appendix "A-.-C"."D". (did not work July 1-2-3.)

JULY 7th - 10thProspecting traverses, located old road, brushed out, blazed andflagged to the Mo -Py trenches on claim # 1144882. See Appendix "C".

JULY 25thTo Kenora for explosives.

JULY 27th - 30th

Back to large quartz dome located and stripped on claim #1144881.Traverses looking for water to wash the deposit, located promising

site, drilled and blasted for water. Moved pump, hoses etc. onto site and washed for two additional days. Appendix "B".

AUGUST 1stTrip to Kenora for explosives.

AUGUST 8th - 22ndMoved to Revell Lake area, Prospecting traverses to locate previously reported quartz vein occurances. Located same and night lamped for Sheelite. Some quite high zones of fluorescence were encountered, tfoved drill, explosives, etc. to site drilled and blasted. From this zone we collected some of the large high grade samples for the ODM "Showcase" Kenora Office. These were selective samples and not representative of the zone content.

JANUARY 8 - 9 - lO/'93 Report and map preparation.

TOTAL MAN-DAYS ........................................... 68

Gold AssaysSome 26 gold samples were collected and assayed from the more min eralized sections of the vein systems located during the "grass roots" prospecting. On the whole they were very disappointing with the best sample assaying .25oz. Au/ton. This sample came from the test pits on claim # 1133731 and is a new showing, the majority of the other gold samples assayed trace.

CONCLUSIONS & RECOMMENDATIONS

Both Major Companies who had expressed interest in this Property at the end of last year's program informed us early in 1992 they were no longer interested in "grass roots" situations due to the state of the economy and budget restraints. (This would appear to be a valid comment on the state of our Industry.)

The large Quartz deposit located in this summer's program would appear to hold the best potential for ecoromic return. The deposit

located on claim #11^881 is estimated to contain 2000 tonnes per vertical meter on the portion stripped and is open to the east.

Two parties visited this deposit and expressed interest. The group from Manitoba who were mining the quartz deposit at Bear Narrows indicated an interest in aquiring this deposit with Glatz and myself retaining a royalty/tonnage interest. We decided to pass due to their "track record" at Bear Narrows.

Another group from Quebec are interested should we be able to expand the tonnage potential in obtaining the deposit. They gave us several good operating techniques in mining and handling this type of material.

This deposit should be completely stripped, washed and cleaned not only on the deposit itself but a considerable distance out from the perimeter so as to reduce the contamination in any future mining activity.

Other sizeable quartz concentrations should be examined for possible silica, decretive aggregate content. Mineralized sections assayed for gold.

In all the night lamp scanning of material over the summer program for fluorescence we could not improve on and/or repeat the high 1.51/& tungsten assay of last year's program. However all samples collected should be routinely checked for fluorescencs.

The high concentrations of fluorite on our claims over considerable distance should be examined further. Although widespread this is not as yet considered economic. Soil sampling is an effective, proven method for locating high concentrations of fluorite and should be persued after some form of grid control is established on the Property.

This Property would appear to hold considerable promise for an "industrial mineral occurance" and should be persued further.

Also the only assay showing any kind of encouragement for gold was from the new pits on claim #1133731- Further work is warranted here.
