Frazer President's Message: On behalf of the Board of Directors, my family and myself, I would like to wish everyone a belated Happy Easter. I hope that everyone had a chance to spend time with family and take a pause from our crazy schedules. If anyone is counting like me, there are only 5 months until Steam-Era. Let’s make our celebration on John Deere one to remember. I know we have many John Deere enthusiasts in our midst, so please contact a Jake Arnold or any director to advise us on what you can contribute. Jake and team are chasing down any leads they get on interesting displays and rare equipment. Drew BLFrom the Boardlb We ask that all members who are posting items to our social media pages be diligent in promoting our Club and show. We appreciate that everyone has diverse interests and as such we are creating an Upcoming Events section on our Official Facebook page were you can advertise your “other” Events. FMembers who live in the Milton area may see our name showing up on some local sporting events. As part of this year’s marketing we are sponsoring a local soccer and baseball team. FAt our recent Director’s meeting it was voted that OSAPA will be hosting the 2022 North American Massey Expo. This will also be the 175th Anniversary of Massey. Some of you may recall that the 150th Anniversary was also held at Country Heritage Park in 1997. FPlease note that Thursday May 10 will be the date of our Annual General Meeting. The 2017 finances along with the 2018 Budget will be presented at this time. FJune 2nd OSAPA will have a display at the Downtown Milton Street Festival. As well as the exhibits we are planning on selling steamed Corn as a way to promote Steam-Era. We will need at least 8 to 10 volunteers to hand out brochures and sell corn. If you have time on the 2nd to come and help plese contact either Drew or Clinton. Steam Era Camping 2018Spring is just around the corner and now it is time to start

preparing for the 2018 Steam Era Show. For the 30% of campers who did notroll over their camp sites last Labour Day week-end, it is now time to reserveyour site for Steam-Era 2018. The camping fee for this year is $60.00 andyour site from last year can still be reserved if your cheque is received by June15th. After June 15th all sites will be on a first come, first served basis. Lastyear we sold out of camp sites, so please do not delay in sending in yourcheque to reserve your preferred site.

CLUB JACKETS. Hey everybody. This year we are doing a run of club jackets. We have updated thejacket design from the blue windbreakers we've had historically. To the right is a photo ofthe new jackets. I will have samples to try on at the general meeting in April, the jacketswill be coloured black with our crest on the front breast. They will be priced at 65 dollars apiece. I need a minimum or 35 to place the order and all jackets must be paid for in fullbefore I place the order. Order forms will be available at the meeting and will be sent toeveryone on the email list as soon as it is available. JOHN DEERE SPECIAL FEATUREHey Everyone, As I write this we sit 153 days away from steam era 2018. How exciting is that!? As everyone should have heard by now, the special feature for this year’s show is All things John Deere. 2018 marks 100 years since John Deere bought Waterloo Gasoline Engine Company, starting them in the tractor industry. So this is my call to the membership,we are looking for Everything from Tractors, to Gas Engines, to John Deere Snowmobiles for this year’s feature. Georgian Bay Steam Show 2018 Feature

This coming August Civic Long Weekend (Friday August 3rd – Monday August6th), the Georgian Bay Steam Show will be featuring: Minneapolis-Moline, WaterlooMfg. and Oddball & Orphan Manufacturers.

Tractors, Steam Traction Engines, Gas Engines, Implements, Literature, Memorabilia, and Signs,are all welcome as part of our feature. If you own items or know of collectors with items pertaining to ourfeature please feel free to bring them out and spread the word, as the more exhibits we have on displaythe better.

The Georgian Bay Steam Show is located at 4635 Victoria St. West, Cookstown. We offer adaily pancake breakfast, working demonstrations, live stage entertainment, talent contest, flea market,tractor pulling, the OTTPA modified truck and tractor pull, children’s activities, and an afternoonmachinery parade.
