Presented by Ted Olechna • Voting on Proposed Amendments to Rule 2-005: Application for Inspection Not

Required • Proxy Votes for Absent Members Designated as follows:

o Ted Olechna Proxy for John Salmon o Malcolm Brown Proxy for Chris Magnusson

Proposals: 1) Clarify Utilization Equipment & Expand to Include Dwelling Units

Voting: • 15 votes in Support / 0 against • PASSED to move forward with no changes Rationale for Support: Increases Safety with Appropriately set boundaries. Ensures good use and value for the LEC program. Saves consumers money.

2) Expand To Allow Changing Certain Light Fixtures & Switches Within An

Owner-Occupied Single Dwelling Unit Voting: • 15 Votes in Support/ 0 Against • PASSED to move forward with the following change:

• Added restriction on Recessed fixtures and ungrounded 2 wire circuits (Knob&Tube)

Rationale for Support/ Change: Makes Sense and Legitimizes Current practice within appropriate safety boundaries. Change reflects additional safety concerns.

3) Proposal # 3 Expand To Include Wiring From Approved Power Supplies within an Owner-Occupied Single Dwelling Unit Voting: • 15 Votes in Support/ 0 Against • PASSED to move forward with the following change:

• Expanded to Dwelling unit from Single Rationale for Support/ Change: Class 2 Systems are safe, low risk and defined circuit type. Eliminated “Single” because there was no reason for the limitation.

4) Proposal # 4 Expand Exemption To Replacement of Appliances Within

An Owner-Occupied Single Dwelling Unit if Performed by Certain Persons Voting: • 13 Votes in Support/ 2 Against • PASSED with 2 negatives, to move forward with the following changes:

• Expanded to Dwelling unit from Single • Expanded to include connection of appliances on existing circuits and not just

replacement. Rationale for Negatives: Need further Clarification on other job industries and qualifications and exact scope of work. Relaxes control, there should be more control, not less. Rationale for Support/ Changes: All Licensed trades, trained/ qualified workers, low risk work. Reduces costs. Change to remove “Single” since there was no reason for the limitation. Added Connection to existing Circuits, as this is also low risk and performed by qualified Trades.

5) Proposal # 5 Expand Exemption To Allow the Repair or Installation of

Certain Electrical Equipment In Specific Circumstances An Owner-Occupied Dwelling Unit Voting: • 15 Votes in Support/ 0 Against • PASSED to move forward with no changes Rationale for Support: Legitimizes current practices. Repair work only, does not pose a safety issue. Low risk & common Sense rule.
