d) What other similar programs are offered at Brock University?

Biochemistry1 - The Biochemistry Program is a broadly based program designed to provide the student

with a thorough understanding of living systems from a molecular perspective. The goals of

biochemistry are to identify the chemical components and molecules (such as DNA, RNA and protein)

of living cells and to determine the function of each component, how components interact, how they are

integrated into biological systems, and how these components affect the overall functions of cells and

living systems.

Biophysics2 - Brock's biophysics program will provide the students with a superb learning environment

and exciting research opportunities. Biophysics is the physics of life, of all living systems and their

interaction with the surroundings, natural and artificial.

Biology3 - The biological sciences, or the life sciences, encompass a broad spectrum of subjects from

molecular biology to ecology as well as such disciplines as biochemistry, biophysics, genetics and

physiology. The program is designed to provide the student with a broad base in modern biological

thought, to fulfill the basic requirements for admission to professional and advanced degree studies and

to prepare graduates for careers in the biological sciences and related fields.
