PharmacoEconomics & Outcomes News 642 - 26 Nov 2011 Only 34% of parents report that their children are vaccinated for HPV * even although 65% say that they know it is important for their children to be fully vaccinated, according to results of an online survey conducted from 28 Sep to I Oct, 2011 by the American Osteopathic Association. Of the 1034 respondents, 61%, 73% and 84% of parents say that their children are vaccinated for meningitis, hepatitis B, and tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis, respectively. This compares with 90%, 88% and 95% of parents, respectively, who think that it is important to fully vaccinate for these diseases. Health risks and allergies associated with vaccines were the top reason parents gave for not vaccinating their children. * human papillomavirus American Osteopathic Association.
