Newton Road 1291 Conneaut Avenue Mon-Thur 5:30am-9pm*; Fri 5:30am-7pm, Sat 8am-5pm; Sun 10am-5pm Mon-Fri 9am-5pm *Closing time is 8pm during our Summer Hours Every family must have an updated liability waiver/registration form for 2019, which can be filled out at any time (online or in person) to increase the efficiency of the registration process.

Resident/Non-Resident Status To be considered a resident you must live within the city limits of Bowling Green. The term “non-resident” applies to all others. It is possible for your home to be outside the Bowling Green city limits even if you are within the school district or have a Bowling Green mailing address. Rates for non-residents are slightly higher to compensate for city property taxes supporting BG Parks & Recreation.

CARTOON & COMIC BOOK WEEK

Kids will have all sorts of activities related to their favorite TV Shows, movies, cartoons, and comic books. Every camper is a star in this fun week. Campers

will even get to dress up as their favorite character (or invent their own original interesting character) and star in their own skits developed and organized by the

campers themselves. Kids will get a copy of a DVD of the camp skits and short movies. NOTE: Camper families are invited and encouraged to come

participate in our Family Fun Campers Movie Night at the Community Center. Come watch the movie that BG Day Campers put together and starred in,

Wednesday, June 12th at 6:00pm-6:45pm at the BG Community Center.

This week is all about all sorts of games. Come participate in some familiar and not so familiar games with your fellow campers. Games will include kid

versions of popular TV shows like “Minute to Win It”; Survivor; The Amazing Race, as well as bringing popular children’s board games and video games to

life. Kids will even have an opportunity to develop their own games and have other campers participate in them. NOTE: Camper families are invited and

Parks & Rec Variety Camp BG Parks and Recreation has a lot to offer and this camp showcases plenty of it! Each day of the week has a different theme and location. NOTE: Parents are responsible for dropping kids off at locations.

Each child will receive a slice of pizza, a beverage and an ice cream from our concession stand, then get to enjoy the Splash Pad and Pool while supervised. In case of inclement weather, activities will consist of indoor games and a movie at

Needle Hall.

WINTERGARDEN PARK & ROTARY NATURE CENTER

Kids bring a lunch and will work on some fun nature crafts after finishing their lunch, followed by a hike, outdoor education, hands on learning, and a science hour.

Hot Dogs & Burgers are on us as kids get to enjoy a picnic in the park complete with a lot of playground time with their fellow campers, followed by a sidewalk chalk mural contest, outdoor group games, and a camp olympics.

June 3-June 7 9:00am-12pm Come explore the natural wonders of the Wintergarden/St. John’s Nature Preserve! Our nature camp offers a variety of activities to engage campers in the out-of-doors as they learn about plants and animals through hands-on lessons, hikes, games, and arts and crafts projects. Daily themes will engage the children and focus attention on specific nature subjects. Nature's Nursery, a local animal wildlife rehabilitation center, will visit with their animal ambassadors and an educational program.

This camp is led by Kerry Patrick Clark, a singer/songwriter from Maumee who is known for performing a mixture of genres and time periods: today and yesterday, pop, folk, country, and Americana. His career highlights include: being a former member of the folk group, The New Christy Minstrels; being the #1 charting folk artist of 2014; and having a #1 song as well as two #1 CDs on the Roots Music Reports Internet Folk. This camp focuses on songwriting and things needed to perform (sound systems, promotion, touring, booking, and will culminate in an acoustical performance by the students that family and friends will be invited to attend. Participants wil l also have an opportunity to perform at our Party in the Park event Tuesday, August 6th (rain date Thursday, August 8th)

Each of the parties listed below is a 2 hour party package consisting of 1 hour of activities tied into the selected theme and 1 hour of Party Room Time which includes themed cookie decorating, time for food and refreshments, as well as present opening. POOL PARTY PACKAGE $175 Fees listed above include Green Shelter rental and pool admission for up to 4 adult guests and invited children, up to 40 people total. Additional adult guests may purchase daily passes if they wish to attend. As part of our party package, you may purchase a meal deal for $2.50 per person. Meal deal includes a slice of pizza, a drink, and a piece of cookie cake from The Cookie Jar. Additional items are also available for purchase from our concessions stand. A one day clinic for ages 8-13 at Stone Ridge Golf Club driving range. Learn and review fundamentals of the game and discover more

Come out to the Bowling Green Community Center for this 3 day golf camp where children ages 5-9 can work on the fundamentals of golf. All

skill levels are welcome. This camp features the use of SNAG golf equipment designed specifically for introducing people to golf. Due to the

design of the SNAG equipment it gives success earlier. Participants may also bring their own clubs. Participants will work on skills challenges

and golf swing techniques to help improve their golf game. PGA Professional Lindy Bastel Powers will lead the program. Camp will meet at

the BG Community Center.

The Wednesday, 6 v 6 Coed Sand Volleyball League will play a round robin schedule and a

double elimination tournament at season end. Game times are 6:30 and 7:30PM. Game

times are subject to change. Teams may be participating in double headers during the regular

season. Entire team fee is due Friday May, 17th ($50 late fee after 5/17). • 6 on 6 Leagues

can play with no more then 4 men and no less than 2 women. Registration for this program

opens March 21, 2019.

$50 late fee after 5/17. Waitlisted teams may play on Thursdays and will be contacted by Eric

Fletcher. Team captains are asked to provide a reliable source of communication on their

registration form (cell phone and email) for inclement weather scenarios.

Friday Funday at BG City Pool Fridays 1:30pm-3:00pm

Boys and girls ages 5-12 years are invited to join us for Friday Fun-days at BG City Pool once a month throughout the Summer. Activities to include Waterslide Races, Big Splash Competitions, Individual and team relay races, and treasure hunts. This event is offered at no additional charge to people with pool passes or paid daily admissions on those days and times. Friday Fundays are scheduled for the days and times listed below (in cases of rain, the event may be cancelled or postponed and to a different Friday of that month depending on facility and staff availability. Family Fun Wacky Olympic Picnic

Families are invited to come to the BG Community Center, bring their picnic dinner and participate in some fun and wacky competition against other participants.

Family Picnic with WCD Public Library and BG Parks & Recreation Tuesday, July 2 5:30pm

The theme of this year’s event will be "Astronaut Training with WCDPL Children's Place" so families are invited to bring their picnic dinner to City Park for a night of stories and fun activities.

Solar Prints at Simpson

Friday, June 21 1:00pm-2:00pm at Children’s Garden

Join the BG Parks and Recreation and the Wood County District Library as we have some fun with the sun! Solar Prints at Simpson will be held on the solstice, Friday, June 21 at 1 PM. Meet in the Children's Garden (weather permitting - if raining meet in the building) for stories, a project, and a tour of the park to see what the sun has growing!

Night Hike at Wintergarden

Thursday, July 25 8:30pm-10pm

Join the Bowling Green Parks and Recreation Department and the Wood County District Public Library as we dive into tales of nature at night! A Night Hike at Wintergarden will be held at 8:30 PM on Thursday, July 25. Stories, a hike, a fire and a treat will all come together for an evening of fun!

Lunch in the Park Fridays 11:30am-1:00pm in June & July at BG City Park

Join us for lunch and free musical performances at the park. Lunches from many of your favorite local restaurants are available for purchase. The schedule of performers and restaurants to be announced in May.

Art in the Park Friday, June 7 5pm-7pm at Simpson Garden Park

BG Arts Council and the BG Parks & Recreation Department present a free night of enjoyment of the arts in our beautiful Simpson Garden Park. Artists painting, singers singing, flowers blooming and players acting!

Family Land, Sea, Air Imagination Challenge

Tuesday. June 25th 6:00pm-7:30pm

Compete against other families in fun, science themed competitions such as egg drop challenge, marshamallow catapult challenge, and other fun contests.

Family Giant Games & Minute-to-Win-It Night

Tuesday, July 16th from 6:00pm-7:30pm

Families are invited to come out for a night of fun games, activities, and contests.

In these fun Family Sports Nights we will have parents and children team-up to take on the competition

in the game of the night. Parents and children will participate in the same game as teammates, having

fun and going for the team victory!

We will break the game down into separate periods of play between the different age groups so that kids

will be matched up against kids from a similar age during their playing time then adults will substitute in

and be matched up against other adults during their playing time.

This is your chance to be teammates while also cheering each other on from the bench in these

Thrillin’Thursday Team-Ups at the BG Community Center coming in Summer 2019!

Play together as a family and start your practice for these fun activities now by purchasing a family pass

and visiting the BG Community Center as a family to work on your game!
