CIDC – Activities: MoU (Between CIDC Singhania University (SU):

CIDC has entered into an MoU with Singhania University (SU), Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan) to offer the Bachelor of Vocation (B.VOC) program for the Construction sector with following specialization:

Building Construction. Roads & Highways Construction. Water Proofing & Construction Chemical Application. Operation& Maintenance of Co nstruction Equipment Trenchless Technology Application Construction Project Management Building Maintenance

University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched this scheme on skills development based higher education as part of college/university education leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).

The aim of the programme is to create more job ready employees/entrepreneurs by imparting them skills and education leading to creation of a rich resource pool of skilled human resources.The eligibility condition for admission to a B.Voc programme is 10+2 or equivalent in any stream.

MoU was signed during the inaugural session of NO DIG INDIA SHOW 2015, International Conference & Exhibition on “Trenchless Technology for Building Smart Cities” organized by Indian Society for Trenchless Technology (IndSTT) at India Habitat Center, New Delhi.

Singhania University is represented by Ho’ble Chancellor Mr. Ravinder Singhania & CIDC by Dr. Niranjan Swarup, Hon. Director (Higher Education).

The first batch (1601) of CIDC-SU B.Voc. Program is starting from 1st May 2016. Admission Notice is being attached.

CIDC along with Singhania University, Rajasthan is also offering Diploma/B.Tech & a wide range of CIDC training programs for all levels of aspirant candidates. Programs & admission details can be viewed at www.cidc.in or www.cipdta.com. Construction companies can nominate their employees in such programs to enhance their productivity.

Second batch of CIDC-TMU B.Voc. Program is starting from 1st March 2016.

CIDC – Activities: Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (Chengdu):

The "2015 Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Economic Corridor (Chengdu) Development Forum” held from 23rd to 25th November 2015 at Chengdu, Sichuan, China drew an enthusiastic response form the participating nations. Besides the Chinese companies and delegates, a sizeable delegation from Bangladesh, Myanmar and India participated in the forum deliberations.

The forum this year was held in the Chengdu Airport Hotel.

The concerns and issues with the forum were elaborated by speakers from participating countries and breakaway activities that drew enthusiastic participation form the delegates included two parallel sessions - Academic Seminar – on Construction of BCIM Economic Corridor and Business Negotiations – Investment consultation and project match-making.

The CIDC delegation was led by Shri Salahuddin Ahmed, Former Chief Secretary Government of Rajasthan. Mr. P. K. Mohanty, Principal Secretary, PHED Rajasthan extolled the virtues of investing in Rajasthan and highlighted the value proposition of Rajasthan as an investment destination for the participating countries and their companies. Prof. (Dr.) Niranjan Swarup & Mr. Ashutosh Bhardwaj shared the work being done by Indian Society for Trenchless Technology and Construction Industry Development Council respectively and invited the stakeholders to participate in the India growth story through flagship programs of the Government like Make in India, Swachch Bharat, Digital India and Skill India.

The presentation of the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China – India the land of opportunities was highlighted in the opening session. The Investment report by the bank focusses on the economic growth potential of the region with a special focus on India. The India Chief Executive Officer of the bank Mr. Qing Hong invited the Indian businesses present to join hands with Chinese strategic investors and equity firms to scale up their operations and increase their offerings to a much larger target base.

A presentation was done by URC Infotech showcasing their dedicated software for the construction businesses by Mr. Lalit Kumar Sharma. Besides officials from CIDC, IndSTT, ICC, CIVTC, member organizations from CIDC Construction Industry Database participated in the forum. Amongst them, the few notable ones were Ritman Infrastructure, R&M International, CQRA, CEMC, URC Infotech, Vikas group of Institutions and Infrastructure.

CIDC – Activities: From Chengdu a small CIDC delegation proceeded to Kunming, the sister city of Kolkatta to study the

infrastructure and development works in the city. Besides interaction with local institutes and visit to places of urban development esp. waste and sewerage disposal systems, road maintenance and urban transportation, cleanliness and hygiene.

The delegation returned to India after a short but successful study trip from China. Meaningful dialogues have been conducted at Chengdu between the Indian companies and their counterparts in China, Bangladesh and Myanmar and continue to do so even after their return. The trend augurs well and soon will culminate into partnerships that will benefit all stakeholders in the region.

CIDC Vishwakarma Awards 2016:

The call for nominations for 8th CIDC Vishwakarma Awards came to a close on 30th December 2015. Based on initial scrutiny and documentation review, 10 teams comparing of 2 evaluators each have been travelling to sites and offices of the shortlisted applicants for site interactions & management reviews.

The pan India and overseas evaluations will be completed by 20th February 2016.

Airports Authority of India:

As we step into the last quarter of the financial year, the targets for the project are getting achieved in a seamless manner. With over 900 registrations achieved, the happy faces of the trainees in the project snapshots below depict the enthusiasm, cheer and camaraderie at our training centres.

The trainees while thanking Airports Authority of India for the support and resource based sponsorship for various construction trades, underlined the importance of the training in shaping their careers.

We wish all successful candidates who have found gainful employment all the best in their future endeavours

CIDC – Activities: Talent Search Competition 2015:

Construction Industry Development Council & Vikas Institute of Engineering & Technology jointly organized ‘’Talent Search Competition 2015” on 06th Dec, 2015. This competition was conducted to search talents and give appreciation to them. The competition was conducted in two levels, junior level for class 10th students and senior level for class 12th students. Students from 98 colleges participated in the competition. Principals of different colleges were the observers of the competition.

Talent Search Award Function:

The result was declared in award function organized on 28th Dec, 2015. The Chief Guest of the function was Dr. P.R. Swarup, Director General, CIDC and the Guest of Honour was Dr. Lalit Verma, IAS, Principle Secretary, Govt. of U.P. Er. P.K. Mishra, Additional Director, CIDC, Er. Shashi Bhushan, Chairman, VIET, Er. J.B. Rai, S E (Rtd), Govt. of UP, Shri Ravi Rai, Founder, APNA Ghar were also present in the function. Dr. P.R. Swarup congratulated all students who won the prize and motivated all participants to achieve bigger targets in life. Dr Lalit Varma, topper of Civil Services Exam 1984, inspired the students to reach on the top in their carrier. In senior level, the first prize winner was Sh Shubham Singh, second prize winner was Sh Vishal Agrhari and third prize winner was Sh Sandeep Kanu. In junior level, first prize winner was Sh Tushar Srivastava, second prize winner was Sh Shivanand Yadav and third prize winner was Sh Aviral Yadav. Ten consolation prizes were distributed in both levels.

CIDC – Activities: Press Conference:

A press conference was organized in Gorakhpur on 28th December, 2015. Dr P R Swarup, Director General, CIDC, addressed media and shared the different programs/ activities of CIDC. The skill development programs, B Voc and Engineering Council of India were the focal area of media. Er P K Mishra, Additional Director, CIDC was also present in the conference.

Engineering Council of India (ECI) Meeting:

Dr P R Swarup, DG, CIDC/ Member Secretary, Engineering Council of India headed a meeting of senior engineers in Gorakhpur on 28th Dec, 2015. Dr Swarup informed the objectives and activities of Engineering Council of India. The category and availability of membership were also area of interest in meeting. Twenty-two engineers from different areas of engineering participated in the meeting.

CIDC – Activities: Training: Oil India Limited. (Under CSR Activities):

The Valedictory function of OIL Phase-II has been organized on 29th December, 2015 at our CIDC Centre Ramgarh (Jaisalmer). The main objective was to felicitate on their successful Training and Placement and also meet and interact with students and bless them. Though we have trained 181 candidates in our Ramgarh Centre in three batches. The first batch has commenced from 15th June, 2015 and the last batch completed on 28th Dec, 2015. The Trade was offered by CIDC GWS, Electricians, and Plumbers.

We have invited Oil officials from Rajasthan, Construction companies, Sarpanch, Vidhayak, local village Pradhan and also invite 150 candidates those have trained & Placed by CIDC. Shri. Deepak Mujumdar Sr. Additional Director CIDC has addressed formal introduction to all dignitaries, who were present at Valedictory function. Mr. N.R. Deka Executive Director of Oil India Ltd Rajasthan addressed to all the candidates and open house discussion of other aspect for meeting the objectives of the training and placement of youth. Overall the function was successful.
