Online FX Hot Tips GuideWestpac Institutional Bank has recently upgraded the technology for our electronic FX platform based on customer research. We’ve focused on improving workflows for simplicity, introducing a notifications feature to improve operational efficiency and making Online FX accessible from a range of browsers so it’s easier for you to do business with Westpac. This upgrade is just one of the investments we are making to align our technology with the fast changing and evolving needs of our customers globally.

Online FX (OLFX) benefits

Execution:

• 24-hour trading available 5.5 days a week;

• access live indicative rates;

• executable live prices for spot, forwards and swaps in all major currencies;

• ability to place multiple order types such as Stop-Losses, One-Cancels-Other and so on;

• real-time transaction and order blotters;

• ability to transact in multiple accounts within the one business group.

Confirmation and settlement:

• electronic confirmation;

• ability to settle deals using saved standard and non-standard settlement instructions;

• ability to email settlement details.

Workflow Management:

• automated email notification of maturing deals;

• ability to view deal history and settlement history;

• manage segregation of duties with different access levels per user.

1.0 Setting your Preferences

To begin, go to your preferences and set up deal preferences. Ensure you save your changes. Manage Deals is your default entry screens, unless you choose otherwise.

2.0 Manage Deals

The deal related functionalities will be displayed when you click on the three dots at the end of each deal.

To create a Deal, click the button.

Deal related functionalities such as Predeliver/Extend/Settle were displayed when you clicked on the deal in the grid.

New customised filtering allows you to change the order so the columns appear on your screen as you want to see them. When you print or download, the settings will match your screen.

To create an order, click the button.

Orders were managed separately via an order blotter.

Orders remain separate but with functionality displayed when you click on the three dots at the end of each order.

4.0 Settling Deals via Online Payments

Select Payments from the Other Services menu.

Select Payments from the Other Services menu.

Previously, the Create Settlement functionality was split across two screens.

5.0 Settling Deals through Online FX

Before:

After the upgrade, there are two ways to settle a Deal through Online FX. 1. Select a single Deal and choose Settle from the dropdown menu.2. To settle multiple Deals on the same Value Date, go to the Settlements menu and Create a settlement.

In this approach, the entire Create Settlement process will be in the same screen. This includes selecting the deals for settlement, split payments, selection of payment instruction.

Select the Deals to be included on the specific Value Date or select all Deals for net or gross settlements.
