Online Couponing
Couponing Tips
Instead of shopping for what you need today,
shop for things you use often when the prices
are lowest. Combining your coupons with sales
will save you a lot more money.
NEVER photocopy a coupon.
If the store is out of the item and you have a
really great coupon, ask for a raincheck.
If you get overwhelmed, start with one or two
stores and one or two apps you’re likely to use
Couponing Tips
Many stores let you “stack” different types of
coupons for extra savings. Find out what type of
coupons and what combinations the store
accepts by checking online or in person.
Combine your coupons with big sales to save the
most. If you have a coupon for $1 off, and the
item is already on sale $2 off, you’ve saved $3!
Sometimes items can even be free.
Coupon Policies Here’s an example of what a coupon policy might look like:
Types of Coupons
eCoupons: Digital coupons found online/through
an app and put on your loyalty card. Generally
these cannot be stacked.
Internet Printables: Coupons you print from
online. These may be store or manufacturers
coupons.
MFG/MQ: Manufacturers coupon. This coupon
can be used anywhere the product is sold, but
may or may not be combined with store coupons
Store Coupons: You get them from and use them
in a specific store
Couponing Terms To Know
Price Match: Certain stores will take their
competitors’ coupons and match them
Stacking: combining more than one type of
coupon for extra savings
Double or Triple Coupon: Coupon that a store
agrees to double/triple in value*
Coupon Friendly Stores
Albertsons often releases double or triple the
value coupons, “round-up” to $1 coupon days
Wal-mart will match competitors prices, but will
not accept “cents off” coupons
Safeway’s Just4U coupons cannot be stacked
with a manufacturers coupon, but store coupons
loaded on your savings card can.
Fred Meyer-can only use 5 of the same coupon
in one transaction (can’t stock up much), only
use two of the same printable coupons
Coupon Friendly Stores
Yokes won’t allow you to stack manufacturer
coupons, but will allow you to stack an MF
coupon with an in-store or competitor’s coupon.
Yokes will also accept internet coupons, with a
few exceptions. “Fresh Fridays” are good days
to use your coupons.
Rite-Aid takes stacked coupons: combine their
Video Value coupons and Wellness/+UP card
rewards with MFG coupons, and shop during a
sale
Coupon Friendly Stores
Walgreens only takes as many manufacturers
coupons as there are items being bought, so
“fill” with small cheap items to save big. Paper
coupons are applied before digital.
Rosauers provides coupons on their website,
accepts paper MFG coupons, accepts internet
coupons but may need to validate them if for a
free item or more than $2 off. No doubles or
competitor coupons.
