The Beginning of your search

• Sign in to My Account will take you to the login page. Signing into your library account allows you to review your checked out items, renew items, request items, and update your personal information

• New this month will allow you to browse brand new books, movies, music, and downloadable materials

• Catalogo en Espanol will take you to the Spanish-language catalog

• Library Home will take you to the Sacramento Public Library website

• Help will allow you to search for help topics or choose from a list of topics

• Catalog will bring you back to the main search page from wherever you are

These links will take you directly to the library newsletter, library events, the library card application, databases, RSS feeds, printable tax forms and tables, or allow you to browse the DVDs, audiobooks and downloadable materials

Search

The search window in the middle of the screen takes you automatically to a keyword search. Results can be sorted by relevance, media type, location, date of publication, etc…

The green tabs allow you to search specifically by author, title, subject, or perform an even more specific advanced search

Or…You can search directly by call number or ISBN

Putting your query into the search box and clicking ‘Find it!’ will automatically begin a keyword search which will bring up a broad range of results. If you are

searching for a particular author, or you know the exact title of the item you are looking for, you can click on the appropriate green tab and search from there. If

you are looking for a specific subject, you can use the subject tab (if you don’t know the subject heading the library uses, helpful suggestions will be given to

you when you search here).
