Christmas lunch was a wonderful turn out,

organised by the staff and volunteers at

One-to-One. Both staff and volunteers

had a wonderful time and enjoyed the

lovely food provided.

We would like to wish a very Happy New

Year and thank all our volunteers and

staff for their hard work throughout the

One-to-One celebrating

One-to-One staff and volunteers

attended a Conference on combating

isolation and supporting well-being in

the community.

Congratulations to Leyla, Liz and

Karl for completing their Walk

Leaders Training.

One-to-One Walks are now

accredited by Walking for

Health and the Ramblers

Association this means

that our walks are now

available for public to

Jack Petchey Award

This sporting Award is presented to young

people. It rewards good work and gives

recognition for performance at all levels

and ability.

The following Members have been

nominated and presented with a

Certificate. They have also been invited

to an Awards Event in

March to celebrate with

other people from Lon-

don who have been nomi-

nated.

Canoe & Kayaking Course

(April to May 2014)

Congratulations to Michelle Bunce, Karl

Rockman, Liz Roberts, Susila Ukkah and

Angie Higgins who all successfully

passed part of the British Canoe 1*

Award. This involved 5 afternoons of

training at the Herts. Young Mariners

Base in Cheshunt. They learnt how to

Canoe and Kayak safely and use a small

sailing boat. The hardest part of the

course was completing a full roll in the

kayak which involved rolling over into

the water and back up again without fal-

ling out!!
