Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) sponsored One day Seminar

on “Financial Empowerment on Financial Education and Investment Awareness” was organized by

Modern Institute of Technology, Rishikesh on 15th February 2020 at the MIT Campus from 01:30

PM onwards. Mr. Surya Kant Sharma, Senior Consultant, AMFI (North India) and Dr Sanjay

Agarwal, Resource Person, Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) were the guest speakers.

From MIT, Honorable Director, MIT, Mr. Ravi Juyal, Prof. Jyoti Juyal, IQAC Coordinator & HOD

Education, Prof. Koushalya Dangwal, HOD Biotechnology & Microbiology, Dr. L. M. Joshi, HOD

Commerce, Dr. V. K. Sharma, Principal, Department of Engineering, Mr. Pradeep Pokhriyal, HOD CS &

IT, Mr. Ajay Tomar, HOD Pharmacy, along with faculty members and students of the various

departments of MIT were present at the event.

Dr Naveen Kumar, Principal, HEC Group of Institutions, Haridwar, faculty members and students

from Department of commerce, HEC Group of Institutions, Haridwar turned up in great numbers and

made active participation in the seminar.

Proceedings of AMFI sponsored One day Seminar on “Financial Empowerment on Financial

Education and Investment Awareness”

Dr. L.M. Joshi, HOD Commerce, addressed the gathering and introduced the participants to distinguished

guests of the program Mr. Surya Kant Sharma and Dr Sanjay Agarwal. Afterwards, Dr Sanjay Agarwal,

briefly introduced the gathering to the theme of the seminar and highlighted the significance of financial

empowerment. Thereafter, technical session of the seminar commenced at around 2:30 pm which was led

by Mr. Surya Kant Sharma, Senior Consultant, AMFI who emphasized on financial empowerment, need

of financial education, types of investment schemes along with the pros and cons of each type of

investment etc. It was followed by interactive session; participants asked a number of queries to Mr.

Surya Kant Sharma who satisfied all the queries. Moreover, Mr. Surya Kant Sharma, Senior Consultant,

AMFI also asked some common questions to gathering and the participants who gave the correct answer

were awarded a surprise gift by Mr. Surya Kant Sharma.

The technical session was concluded by Prof. Jyoti Juyal, IQAC coordinator and HOD education, who

appreciated all the participants for their active participation in the seminar with great enthusiasm and

spirit. Lastly, vote of thanks was delivered by the Program Coordinator, Prof. Koushalya Dangwal, HOD

Biotechnology & Microbiology. This was followed by high tea sponsored by AMFI for all the guest and

participants.
