Construction site visit to Dunapart project 12. 04. 2018

Underground levels construction of a burohause. Surraounding reinforced concrete slurry

walls were consrtucted first: excavated about 12 m deep ditch was filled first with bentonit

(fluid heavier then water) and concreted after placing the reinforcement. Parallel to the

axcavation of the trench (space volume of the underground levels) the slurry walls were tied

back by prestressed steel tendons, to equilibrate the earth pressure acting horizontally onto

the backside of the slurry walls. On bottom of the trench about 2x2 m squares of the

reinforced concrete pile heads can be seen. (Below them four, about 8 to 12 m long reinforced

concrete piles – of about 50 cm diameter - were constructed to support the interior reinforced

concrete columns of the buiding. Reinforced concrete columns will start upward from centre

of the pile heads. On the right of the photo staicase and elevator surrounding reinforced

concrete walls' constructioon have already been begun.

Deformed plastic sheets in black atteched to the walls are parts of underground water

insulation. (The cellar levels' perimeter loadbearing reinforced concrete walls will be

constructed on interior side of the surrounding slurry walls.) In back provisory steel tubes can

be seen at corner junctions of the slurry walls to strengthen the connection till constructon of

the underground cellar walls and floors.

Below the construction of two multiszorey houses of flats interconnected on ground floor – and very

probably on the underground garage level – can be seen. On the right the formwork of the reinforced

concrete floor above the third level can be seen. Observe provisory timber safety barriers along the

facade door openings. In back shear walls – walls supporting the whoole construction against

horizontal actions (wind, earthquake) of an other building can be seen, which are arranged around

the staircase and elevator shafts of the house, and were constructed in a phase after finishing the

foundation and before the construction of columns and floors of the building by use of so called

sliding formwork, which allowes continuous construction upward. In front a crane can be seen.

On right a lorry forwarding fresh concrete from the nearby concrete plant can be seen. Concrete is

placed by pumping through flexible tube system. First phase shear walls of an adjacent building can

be better seen here.
