There are 2 ways of communicating what other person has said, these are:
Direct speech Indirect speech (REPORTED SPEECH)
In this case:
• You say it literally.• You use quotation marks
Ex: Alice said: “I love to dance”
In this case:
• You paraphrase it.• You don’t need to use
quotation marks
Ex: Alice said she loved to dance.
