GENERAL NOTES

Situation Upper Ashgate Farm adjoins the Church at Old Brampton and has good national road network access via the M1 and Chesterfield using the A619. From the centre of Chesterfield pick up the A619 and take Chatsworth Road. At the main traffic lights turn into Stores Road by Chatsworth Medical Centre and travel along Stores Road for approximately ¾ mile to the mini roundabout. Turn left signed for Newbold and Old Brampton and travel uphill passing the Ambulance Station on the left. Bear left at the Y junction and travel past Ashgate Hospice into Old Brampton. Upper Ashgate Farm lies on the right after ¾ mile (just before St Peter and St Paul’s Church). From Wadshelf and Wigley travel down past the Fox and Goose Public House with the junior school on the right into the village of Old Brampton. Continue for approximately ¾ mile and pass St Peter & St Paul’s Church on the left with the entrance to Upper Ashgate Farm lying on the left after approximately 300 yards.

‘To the Sale’ and ‘Car Park’ signs will be erected on the morning of the sale.

On receipt of all relevant export documentation and bills of laden (which must be received in the prescribed time limits), the auctioneers will then refund relevant VAT sums.

FOREWORD

The genuine sale at Upper Ashgate Farm arises as a result of the untimely death of Mr Richard Jackson with the family holding the tenancy of this arable and stock unit for nearly 60 years. Mr Jackson traded as J T Jackson & Son with the unit producing excellent crops of cereals and running a very successful winter Bed & Breakfast heifer rearing arrangement. Many locals will know that the farm has prized itself on its meticulous approach to machinery etc. and perusal of the catalogue will reveal that all items have been well maintained and cared for and quite a number have been owned from new. The stars of the show are obviously the New Holland T Series tractor and McHale baler which were both purchased in 2017 with the T Series tractor having undertaken only 6 hours and the baler having baled less than 1600 bales. Purchasers should attend and bid with confidence at the excellent range of machinery and effects together with Land Rover which is an absolute credit to the Late Richard Jackson and his staff.
