This Wednesday, November 29th, will be the LAST class in the Nancy Guthrie Old Testament series in the Ladies’ Class. A NEW

WEDNESDAY NIGHT LADIES STUDY will begin on December 6th in the library! All ladies are invited to join them for a 5 week video study by Priscilla Shirer called "Breathe". Does the busyness of the holiday season sometimes make you feel like you don't even have time to breathe or the idea of a day of rest sounds like an unrealistic dream? Then come and learn about the Old Testament concept of a

Sabbath Day and how we can apply it to our busy lives.

THIS Sunday, December 3rd, is Lunch

With Santa starting at 12 noon. There

will be crafts for the children and pictures

with Santa. We are having a snack potluck so

please bring your favorite holiday snack to

share!

CHRISTMAS BASKETS and CAROLING is THIS Sunday, December 3rd after Lunch with Santa (about 2pm). Poinsettias instead of small gifts will be given to our members that are

visited. Pick up a flyer in the foyers. If you would like to donate towards the Poinsettia’s, please see Cathy Smith or Carolyn Walker. NOTE: the church van is out of commission, so carpooling will be necessary.

Whoever Has God

This morning I was listening to a Christian song

that had a phrase in it that just riveted my soul! It is the

following phrase:

“Whoever has God, wants for nothing at all.”

The song had set to music a rendition of Psalm 23.

The idea of “having God” really intrigues me. It is the

concept and reality of a powerful and transforming

relationship.

In Psalm 23 the Psalmist tries to portray this with

the metaphor of God as shepherd. Most of us live in a

society today where we rarely get to see a shepherd and

his sheep, so this metaphor is not really a vibrant and

applicable one for us.

Think about the relationships that we have. Having

a relationship means being connected meaningfully to the

lives of others. This gets at the core of my daily Christian

life…my life is meaningfully connected to God!

Perhaps it is hard for each of us to fathom that God

desires a relationship with us. Sometimes we desire

relationships with others, yet they do not return the favor.

Maybe this universal human experience is the reason we

hesitate in thinking that we could really desire and pursue

a relationship with God, because we are afraid God might

not return the favor!

Having God today can mean something like being

filled with the Spirit of God, and experiencing the power

of the risen Lord in our lives.

Whoever has God…remember the original milk

commercial…Got Milk? Now we can ask…Got God? If

so, we want for nothing at all. This is because God fills us

with His divine presence and our intense longings for

fulfillment are realized in Him.

In Christian love, Curtis

The very best of us stand in

need of pardon.

“Yes all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious ideal.”

THE CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE will be accepting “new”, “unwrapped” toy donations on Wednesday, December 6th. Toys may also be dropped off to Levi this Wednesday, November 29th or this Sunday, December 3rd. THANK YOU for your support!

Please continue to donate NEW STUFFED ANIMALS for the Anderson County Court system to give to children for comfort that goes through the courts. You can put them in the containers in the front foyer.

The CLOTHING

CLOSET is in need of

BOY’S CLOTHING in

ALL sizes.

CONGRATULATIONS to Curtis and Nancy McClane on the birth of their first granddaughter!

ISLA WINTER LUCHAUER was born on November 25th and was 20.8 inches long and 6lbs. 7oz. She and mom, Sonya and dad Eric, are doing great! On the other hand, the Grandparents are beyond doing great!
