For the last few years Euphonix has been working with several major manufacturers, such as Apogee, Apple, Cakewalk, Digital Audio Denmark, Merging Technologies, Metric Halo, MOTU, and Steinberg to perfect a new and unique control protocol for connecting control surfaces to media software applications via high-speed Ethernet. The result is a very powerful and flexible protocol called EuCon.

Maestro, Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Color, Sonar, Pyramix, MIO Console, Digital Performer, Cubase and Nuendo all directly support EuCon for the ultimate in-depth control integration. EuCon also seamlessly transports control protocols such as HUI and Mackie Control for applications like Pro Tools. EuCon for Euphonix Pro products includes keyboard and mouse data to simplify cabling.

EuCon enables the control surface to switch between multiple workstations, and in the case of EuCon Hybrid, allows tracks from several DAWs to appear on the System 5 and S5 Fusion control surfaces side by side with the consoles own DSP tracks. EuCon HybridThe new EuCon Hybrid Option for System 5 digital audio mixing systems, that is included in the S5 Fusion package, extends the control capabilities of the console beyond the dedicated DSP Cores to the outside world, bringing Mac and PC Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) tracks onto the console surface for mixing. The DAWs communicate with the console via the innovative EuCon high-speed Ethernet control protocol. No other control system or console comes close to the power and total integration of Euphonix control surfaces with EuCon.

Tracks from multiple DAWs can be placed anywhere on the surface together with the System 5s own DSP channels and saved as Layouts for easy recall.
