On behalf of North Central Windsor Family of Parishes, we extended

our deepest sympathies this past week to the family of the late Bishop

John Michael Sherlock. As Bishop Fabbro wrote; "Bishop Sherlock was

a true pastor who was close to his priests and his people. In his

episcopal ministry over the past 45 years, he gave his life in service of

our diocese and the wider Church in Canada. We will miss him, and

we pray for him that he will rest in peace."

I was so blessed to have Bishop Sherlock ordain me to the Priesthood

on April 28th, 1990. A day I will never forget and always remember.

In thanksgiving to Almighty God for these years of his service!

1974 - 1978 - Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of London.

1978 - 2002 - Bishop of the Diocese of London.

When Bishop Sherlock was elevated to the episcopacy, he chose

Omnibus Christus as his episcopal motto. Translated into English, his

motto proclaimed that "There is only Christ: He is everything and He is

in everything" (Col.3:11, Jerusalem Bible). These words guided him

throughout his term as Bishop and until his last hour.

Well done good and faithful servant! Rest in Peace.

Together, let us keep Bishop Sherlock's motto alive!

Father Greg
