GETTING STARTED

Before Using Your Omni One• Remove the Omni One kiosk unit from the shipping carton and retain the

packing materials, invoice, and bill of lading. These may be required to return the device for servicing later, or to process a claim with the carrier.

• Carefully inspect the packaging and contents for any signs of damage. If this evidence of damage, DO NOT attempt to use the unit. Notify your account executive or contact Infinite Peripherals technical support at [email protected].

Software is not provided with your Omni One. Please contact your reseller or Infinite Peripherals for Third Party software solutions.

Integrating the Omni One into your iOS application requires the use of the Infinite Peripherals Universal SDK. The SDK incorporates an API specifically for developing applications to use barcode scanning and payment functionality of the Omni One.

For additional details on using our Universal SDK, please refer to the SDKs documentation.

The Omni One offers advanced security, power and performance in a sleek, stylish and ergonomic kiosk design.

Feature Description

2D Barcode Scanner

The Omni One supports one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) barcode symbols, which can be read in any direction (omni-directional). The effective reading distance of the barcode reader varies depending on the barcode size. The barcode scanner is capable of reading barcodes on an LCD screen.

ASSEMBLING THE OMNI ONE

Inserting the Tablet (All models)

1. Place the Omni One face down on a smooth, flat surface.

2. Remove the four (4) corner screws from the base unit using a Torx T20 screwdriver. Place the screws in a secure area.

3. Turn the unit over (face up) and detach the faceplate by gently pulling the top piece up away from the base and sliding it to the left to unlock.

4. Insert the tablet into the base, by sliding the it onto the Lightning™ connector until it clicks into place.

5. Place the top cover back onto the base of the unit and slide it to the right to lock it back into place.

6. Turn the unit over and insert the four (4) corner screws on the base. Secure them in place using the T20 screwdriver.

Inserting the Payment Device (Omni One-P and Omni One-SP models only)

1. Using a Torx T8 screwdriver, remove the four (4) corner screws from the back side of the payment device enclosure and place them in a secure area.

2. Turn the unit over and gently pull the faceplate away from the base of the enclosure.

3. Insert your payment device into the base of the enclosure and attach the mini USB cable into the USB port.

4. Verify that the cable is sitting properly in the channel before closing the unit.

5. Reattach the faceplate onto the base of the unit, starting from the bottom of the enclosure.

6. Insert the tab on the bottom edge of the faceplate into the base of the enclosure.

7. Turn the unit over and insert the four (4) corner screws into the base using the T8 screwdriver.

ATTACHING PERIPHERAL DEVICES

Suitable peripheral devices can be attached to the Omni One using one of the auxiliary ports on the back of the device, as shown in the figure below.

Serial Interface

USB Interface

Attach peripheral devices on the unit before connecting power.

USB Connector 1. Plug the USB cable into the USB interface on the back of the Omni One

unit.

2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a suitable peripheral device.

Serial Connector 1. Orient the serial interface cable properly and insert it into the serial

interface connector on the back of the Omni One unit.

2. Secure the cable terminal by fastening the connector with the screws.

3. Connect the other end of the interface cable to a suitable peripheral device.

Refer to the specifications in the Technical Data section for additional information and auxiliary port specification.

POWERING ON THE OMNI ONE

Power Connector 1. Plug the power cable connector on your power adapter into the DC

Jack Port on the back of the Omni One.

2. Connect the AC power cord plug into a suitable wall outlet.

3. Once the Tablet has been installed and the power supply has been connected, your Omni One will automatically power on.

Refer to the Input Power specifications in the Technical Data table in this manual for additional information.

TROUBLESHOOTING

The troubleshooting guidelines provided in the following section are included to assist in the successful installation and configuration of your Omni One unit. If you are having problems the Omni One, first verify that there is power to the unit and that it is powered on and sufficiently charged.

See section titled POWERING ON THE OMNI ONE for additional information on supplying power to the unit.

Once power and proper battery charge has been confirmed, please review the appropriate sections below for additional troubleshooting options. If the problem persists or the problem is not described below, contact technical support at [email protected]. Your unit may need to be returned for servicing.

If the Omni One is not scanning barcodes properly, refer to the table below for additional troubleshooting options:

Scanner does not turn on

• Power supply is not properly connected to the unit.

• Omni One is not being powered on by software.

• Scan engine is faulty.

No barcode data is being returned during scanning

• Barcode cannot be read.

• Software is not decoding properly.

Infinite Peripherals does not warrant, and is not responsible for, any damage to the Omni One (“Product”) or the assembled iOS device as a result of liquid or solid particle intrusion into the Product, or damaged caused by dropping the Product with the assembled iOS device. If a material or workmanship defect arises with regard to any Infinite Peripherals product, and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, Infinite Peripherals (at Infinite Peripherals’ sole discretion) will (1) repair the Product using new or refurbished parts, or (2) replace the Product with a new or refurbished Product.

For purposes of this limited warranty, “refurbished” means a product or part that has been substantially returned to its original specifications. In the event of a defect, these are your exclusive remedies.
