Certified Municipal Manager (CMM)
• 1980 Ontario Municipal Management Institute’s (OMMI)Professional Standards Committee identified skill and knowledge areas necessary to a local government core curriculum
• 1988 - Private Members Bill, Certified Municipal Manager Accreditation Program attained legal status
• Recognizes and develops management capabilities of municipal government administrators
• Provides framework to assess management experience and education relevant to local government
• OMHRA and OMMI now offer Human Resources Specialist and Human Resources Professional enhanced CMM credential

• An HR Specialist must have a minimum of 5 years with required compliment of HR responsibilities
• AN HR Professional must have a minimum of 8 years with required compliment of HR responsibilities
• The CMM designation is required prior to obtaining an expanded designation
Application Process• Received by OMMI and reviewed to confirm eligibility• OMHRA sub-committee reviews and recommends• OMHRA board reviews and approves• OMMI Policy & Accreditation Committee awards
designation and forwards documentation• Recipients recognized at Fall/Spring OMHRA conference• Recipients also acknowledged at OMMI Annual Meeting
• Credit given for employment experience, as indicated by CMM Supplemental Application
• Credit given for academic achievement, seminars, conferences, etc
• ie, points indicated on Conference Agenda for various sessions
