Ancient Greeks believed in many gods and goddesses. Most of them lived in Mount Olympus, they drank nectar and ate ambrosia.

and fertility of the earth

Demeter's greatest gifts to humankind were agriculture, particularly of cereals, helps the crops grow
HADES• God of the
underworld• Zeus’ brother• He abducted
Demeter’s daughter, Persephone and got married to her

HESTIA• Goddess of family
and domesticity • Zeus’ sister• Symbol: flame• Attributes: kind,
forgiving, protective• Ancient Greeks
used to light a small fire in their houses all day for Hestia’s honor
HEPHAUSTUS• God of metalworking• Zeus’ and Hera’s son• Symbols: hammer, anvil• Attributes: lame because
Zeus’ dropped him from Olympus one day, ugly, irascible, very strong, manufactured all the weapons
HERMES• God of transitions • Messenger of the
Gods• Protector of
