PREP 2022 ORIENTATION Prep 2022 Orientation Sessions commence this Tuesday, November 9, and continue on November 19, 23 and December 7. Under the updated COVID-19 restrictions, we are able to host all the Prep 2022 students at the one time, but they are required to be kept separate from the other classes of the school. Sessions commence at 9.30am and conclude at 11.00am, with entry and exit through the black gates. SACRAMENTS RECONCILIATION The Sacrament of Reconciliation for Year 3 2021 students will be celebrated on Thursday November 18 and Year 2 2021 students will celebrate the Sacrament on Thursday November 25. As previously advised, this Sacrament will be celebrated as a school activity. Last week, parents will have received a home activity to complete with their child prior to the Sacrament as part of their role in preparing their child. Please ensure that you return the completed activity in the envelope provided as this will form part of their symbolic action during the ceremony. FIRST EUCHARIST After discussion with Fr Terry, due to COVID restrictions on religious celebrations, it has been determined that the planned celebration of First Eucharist this year will be moved to February 2022. Year 4 2021 students will celebrate the Sacrament on Sunday February 20 at 11.30am. Year 3 2021 will celebrate the Sacrament on Sunday February 27 at 11.30am. Moving to 2022 means we are able to set definite dates and it will also enable larger numbers to attend the celebration as the current roadmap density limit would only allow a maximum of 30 or 90 people in the Church, based on their level of vaccination. It will also allow time for parents to book a venue for any celebration they wish to hold, give plenty of notice to extended family or friends, as well as organising this child’s outfit for the day. Year 3 2022 celebrate the Sacrament later in the second half of 2022. SCHOOL HATS School Hats are compulsory at all times in Term 4 when the students are outside, and the use of sunscreen is highly recommended. Students may now wear their summer uniform on the warmer days. Please remember that as a Sunsmart School, the policy is: ‘No Hat, No Play’. Stay safe and enjoy the week!
