Exciting News
It is exciting to see our school grow and
improve. The slab should be down for our new
classrooms in a week or two! We will soon
know about our application to do more build-
ing next year - a new library, classrooms, science lab, staff
room, sick bay and additional parking! The new ELC is going to
be started soon. Our application to start Yr 11 and 12 will be
lodged soon. And we need an extra teacher for next Year!

Fantastic News!
We need to add another teacher next year and we are
getting our first choice. Mr Blake North recently complet-
ed his final pre-teaching placement at our school and
achieved a high distinction for his grade! Mr North is a History and Science trained secondary teacher and and
has represented his Teachers College at the NSW State Uni
games in Basketball. He is keen to move to North
Queensland, but is doubtful about adopting the Cowboys over the Roosters, and totally against supporting the Maroons! We will have to
work on this!

UNIFORM NOTICE:
Thank you to parents and students for their efforts to wear our school uniform well. I also wish to thank our P & F members who are meeting regularly and working hard to improve our school. Our P & F have put in a lot of work on the uniform, looking at alternate suppliers and ways to improve quality and reduce costs. We will benefit from their efforts as these suggestions work their way through our school council and into practise.
a). The School Council has voted to accept the following recom-mendation from our P & F Committee – Skorts may only be worn by girls in Primary School. For Year 7 and above, starting Term 1 2017, girls may only wear the official school skirt. Girls have the option to wear bike pants/lycra pants or their sport shorts under their skirt to facilitate modesty during active play, as long as these pants cannot be seen extending below their skirt. Girls also have the option to change out of their skirt an into the school sport shorts at play time. b). Please ensure your child is wearing polishable , lace-up school shoes! Other black shoes will not be accepted.

New ELC Tender Opportunity
As many will know we are planning to renovate and extend the house adja-
cent to our carpark, for use as a new Early Learning Centre.
Tender documents will be available shortly. At this stage the tender will
be open to our school Parents & Friends association only, that is those who
are directly supporting our school. If possible we would like to give the
best tender from our school community the opportunity to complete the
work.
