It is probably easier if I just cover what is current as opposed to trying to cover all of the past 4 months. THANK YOU! Your support and prayers has allowed us to do some amazing things in Brentwood! GATHERINGS These are pics a Jewish girl took while visiting an OTC gathering and loved it so much that she posted them on her Facebook profile. God has been blessing our gatherings by bringing a lot of non- believing Jewish people and Gentiles out to our gatherings and they are really liking it. Praise God! Our Sunday morning gatherings started out in the teens and now is averaging around 50 people with Some Sundays in the 60's. Wow! Praise God! Attendance has been so good that our building is becoming an issue. That is a good problem to have. I'll talk more about that later. The Olive Tree Community

Updates, Updates, a Big Prayer Request…and lots More! NOV’S UPDATE: So much to catch up on!

Hi. Seems like a good start. Long time no newsletter. It is probably easier if I just cover what is current as opposed to trying to cover all of the past 4 months. THANK YOU! Your support and prayers has allowed us to do some amazing things in Brentwood! GATHERINGS

These are pics a Jewish girl took

while visiting an OTC gathering and loved it so much that she posted them on her Facebook profile. God has been blessing our gatherings by bringing a lot of non-believing Jewish people and Gentiles out to our gatherings and they are really liking it. Praise God! Our Sunday morning gatherings started out in the teens and now is averaging around 50 people with Some Sundays in the 60's. Wow! Praise God! Attendance has been so good that our building is becoming an issue. That is a good problem to have. I'll talk more about that later. COMMUNITY GROUPS Since my last newsletter we have had some changes. Josh Antioho and Bethany Luebbert are our Men's and Women's ministry pastors and they had a vision to start men’s and women’s community groups.

WOMEN'S COMMUNITY GROUPS

The Women's ministry has a had a few big events, including a retreat to a hot springs spa. All have been well attended. :) They have two community groups that meet regularly for prayer, bible study, and accountability.

MEN'S COMMUNITY GROUPS

The men have had a few big events including a retreat and a few Texas

Hold Em' tournaments. Those tourneys usually bring out about 25 men. The men have three community groups that meet weekly for prayer, bible study, and accountability. OTC BOOTCAMP

The OTC has a ministry called OTC Bootcamp. It is crazy intense and we have had 9 people sign up for it. It is 10 weeks long and it has been amazing! Here are the details. This is about the commitments not the meeting. Worship Check In Share honestly about the good and the bads of your commitments and tell stories Read scripture together and I give leadership lessons from it. Pray. Commitments: Not about how you want to do them, about how I am telling you to do them. All this happens in the morning to start your day, not to sleep on. Pray for 30 min a day all at once. Priorities. Use Joe’s Prayer Calender. Text people you are praying for them on what day Bible Reading. Do devos Joe’s way. What is God like, What should I be like, what verse is speaking to me. Read all that every time you eat or drink something that day. (Man does not live on bread alone but by every word that proceeds the mouth of the Father) Memorize the verse by the end of the day. Text your verses and what you learn to people or tweet, or post them on FB.

Bring your Bible to work or School. Read scripture from your Bible not your phone or computer. Fast once a week for 24-36 hours. Water only. No substituting food for something else. We will be fasting food. Share the gospel with one person a week...Romans road, Bridge illustration, etc (Make sure everyone knows how to share the gospel. Or offer to share the gospel with at least 5 people. Share with five homeless people if you have to. We are in week 8 of OTC Bootcamp and they have done great, and I have seen incredible growth in them. The OTC will offer a Christianity 101 for 10 weeks and then go back to OTC Bootcamp and constantly alternate. GOLF MINISTRY

This may seem like a funny one, but this ministry has the most loyal following and gives us a great opportunity to meet people in the community. We meet new people each week and after every round of golf we end up at the

Chinese Buffet. My Favorite!!! :) CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Children's ministry has been putting on amazing events and kids love it but our facility just puts a limit on how many kids we can minister to. BUMMER! BAPTISMS

This is a pic of me after a baptism at a home in Brentwood. We baptized three people. One girl was Jewish and the other girl was half Jewish. The guy started Von Dutch clothing line. These are people that have been marginalized by the church in the past or simply believe that these people are unreachable. Truth is that these people had incredibly soft hearts and were very receptive to

authentic love and sincere faith. God is moving and using the OTC in huge ways! Thank you for empowering me to be a part of this!!! I am so honored! AWESOME!!!!! FLAG FOOTBALL

I am coaching Jake's flag football team again. We moved up a division and are winless, but Jake loves it more this year than last. He is getting really good. More importantly we are making awesome connections in the community. This Year I am coaching Glen Frey's (The Eagles) kid. God is blessing me with awesome opportunities to influence the influencers of our world. GAMES GAMES GAMES!

I am teaching an after school sports class at the elementary school this semester. It has been

wonderful to serve the school in this way. It has also been a good testimony to them. LISA Lisa is amazing and I love her!

OSCAR

We were blessed with a new addition to our family. We were given the greatest dog known to man…OSCAR. He has brought so much joy to our family and he is so well behaved. We can't believe God allowed us to have him. Thanks God. :)

NEW BUILDING PRAY for The OTC. Our building is limiting our ability to do ministry. We have a lead on an amazing building that seats 3 times more than our current building. It has 72 parking spots (That is unheard of!!!) and has a huge space for Children's ministry with opportunity to add more classrooms as needed. And it is in Brentwood!!!! I can't talk too much about it because it is not a done deal yet. It is the OTC’s if we want it, but it will cost us an extra $17,339 a year. That is not a lot of money for most churches, but is a lot for us right now. Our rent would break down to about $570 a week in this new space compared to $400 a week we are currently paying. $570 is a REALLY good price for anywhere, but is insanely cheap for Brentwood. My old church in Chicago was paying $500 a week in the suburbs of Chicago. This is $570 in LA in the one of the most expensive communities in the country. It is a really good deal! Our people currently give almost double the national average (They are very generous), but we are just still a small church. Our growth has slowed because our space is too small. We need to get $17,339 to

sustain us for a year in the new space and give us a chance to grow. Having a facility like this in a place like Brentwood is rare and I believe could be pivotal in our effort to communicate Jesus to this community effectively. Join me in faith and PRAY for The OTC that we receive that $17,339 from somewhere and are able to increase our impact for the gospel in Brentwood (the most influential community in the US) and we become even more effective in our ability to influence the influencers for Jesus.

Pray for our continued partnership

with our Jewish brothers and sisters in Jews for Jesus and

Tikkun Olam.

OTC FILMS

PRAY for our TV Camera. It has some problems and we don’t know what they are, nor do we have the funds to repair it. These problems are limiting our ability to create films that can have an impact for the gospel and limiting our Entertainment Industry people’s abilities to use their gifts for the Kingdom.

YESHUA THE MOSHIACH!

On Dec 5th Isaac Brickner, who heads up the college ministry at Jews for Jesus' headquarters in Westwood next to UCLA, will be speaking on Hanukkah. He is close friends with our missionaries Sterling and Talia and he is also the son of the Director of J for J. He has incredible insight and discernment for his age, and we are super impressed with him and are excited to see what God does with our friendship and partnership in ministry. PRAY for continued favor, a good reputation, and opportunity in the Jewish community in Brentwood. THE OTC BABY! Vision: To Love People, See them Transformed, and Help them Change the World. We are rolling! Your prayers are being answered and we see

God’s mission being accomplished in Brentwood…soon LA, and next the World.

PRAYER TEAM If you are interested in being a part of my personal prayer team please reply to this email with Prayer Team in the memo and I will add you to my team.

SUPPORT UPDATE In Oct 2010 our support was $2000. I have had my head on straight in terms of faith for about 6-7 months now. PRAY I continue to find peace in God. I have been focusing on not finding relief in money when we have some, nor panic when we have none. I have been breathing easy in God. He is the only constant. It has been fantastic and He has provided!

The other thing is that I have been focused on not being afraid because that is reactionary. God has been focusing me on being strong and courageous. That is proactive! I am not only not afraid, I am strong and courageous…if God is for me, who can stand against me. I am continually seeing all obstacles crushed if they stand in the way of the gospel being proclaimed in Brentwood. YAY God!! PRAISE God allowed us to get into a place that will increased our effectiveness for the kingdom, and lower our rent. It has been awesome!!!!!. PRAY God gets the OTC in the NEW BUILDING by providing that $17,339 and gets the OTC self sufficient by the end of 2011! PRAY for my Family too. That God would use the kids in the lives of their friends and at their school. That Lisa will be a light to the parents and in this community! Please consider forwarding this newsletter to all the people in your contacts list at least one time, explaining our mission and need, and maybe God will move in someone's heart to support God's mission to LA! Please have courage and faith no matter what you do! Thank you for all of your support! GIVE ONLINE? YES!
