Nowadays, together with the prestigious wine of theMontalbano hills, a substantial part of Villa Petriolos productionconsists of an excellent extra-virgin olive oil IGP.The olive trees cultivated on the estate are mainly of theLeccino and Frantoio variety. Olives are exclusivelyhandpicked, then kept in a cool, well-ventilated place and

pressed so as to maintain and optimise the quality of the oilitself.At the sight, the extra-virgin olive oil IGP Villa Petriolo, is brightgreen, with a good limpidity and consistency. At the nose it hasfresh nuances of aromatic herbs, with fruity aromas of greenapple. At the taste this olive oil is enveloping, slightly spicy,with a fruity aftertaste balanced with the olfactory. Olive treesframe the European, African and Asiatic coasts of theMediterranean, cradle of ancient civilizations.To witness the old tradition of the cultivation of the olives inTuscany are the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci. In the CodiceAtlantico, for example, he conceived a tool for the olivepressing.

The olive tree (olea europea sativa), enriches the Tuscanlandscape in pair with the vineyards. Moreover, the multicultivation (vineyards and olive groves)give both more taste. The hand picking of the olives:

- The people could pick the olives in the traditional way

Opening days:Monday to Saturday included (Sundays on request) 10.00 am to 7.00 pm.Closed: one week in August (the one in which August 15 falls) from 15 to 31 December eachyear. During such periods bookings may be made upon request to be sent at least 30 days inadvance.

All our tastings and lunches can be organised in the gardens, rooms and farm vineyards. Tastings and/or lunches in the manor, for a maximum of 20 people will be estimatedseparately.
