This weekend, April 4 & 5, the second collection is for the Religious Education. Please give generously toward the spiritual enrichment of our children.

Second Collection

“Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God something to be grasped. Rather, he emptied him-self, taking the form of a slave, coming in human likeness.” How im-portant to remember these words of St. Paul, how essential to our faith. The Word was made flesh; Jesus Christ entered into the messi-ness of being human, to walk with us through the chaos and once more help us to hear the words: “Let there be Light!” I cannot tell you how long our current crisis will go on, or how it will change the world as we know it. But at the end of all this, our call will be the same, to proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord and to learn to love one another as He loves us. I pray this time of trial will help us to let that message enter even more deeply into our hearts.

I will try each day to give an update and prayer about 8:30AM on Facebook. I will continue to give updates as we receive them. If you have any intentions, or any ideas to help us all go forward as a com-munity in Christ, please let me know. The Lord give you Peace!

Despite closures and cancelations, our parish expenses continue! I know these are hard economic times for everyone. With the suspension of Masses, we will not have our regular income from our Sunday collection, so I am asking everyone to help as you can by sending in donations or dropping them off through the new mailbox slot in the parish office. We are also working on online giving. I ask the Lord to help us all work together so we can get through the current crisis situation with faith and charity. God bless you always!

“Cristo, siendo Dios, no consideró que debía aferrarse a las prerrogativas de su condición divina, sino que, por el contrario, se anonadó a sí mismo, toman-do la condición de siervo, y se hizo semejante a los hombres.” Tan importante este mensaje de San Pablo, porque él nos acuerda cual es lo más fundamental de nuestra fe: la Palabra se hizo carne y habitó entre nosotros. La maravilla es que Jesucristo, a pesar de ser el Hijo de Dios, vivía la condición humana como la experimentamos, con todo lo bonito y todo lo duro. En medio del caos que encontramos en este tiempo del virus, el Señor todavía dice: ¡Haya luz! Yo no puedo decirles cuando esta crisis va a terminar, ni cuando las cosas van a re-gresar a lo “normal.” Solo puedo compartir lo más importante: Jesucristo anda con nosotros en medio de todo, y quiere enseñarnos de nuevo cumplir su man-damiento: Ámense unos a otros.
