Board of Directors Convention of States

President Bob Self conducted the first Board of Directors meeting of his new year on July 14th

(L-R) Club Secretary Marv Love, Bob Chalfa and Membership Chair Larry Edwards.

Executive Secretary Stan Vogelsang

Public Relations Chair, Matt Risi, is either scanning local print media for references to Old Mission Ro-tary.or checking the box scores.

Article V of the US Constitution allows states to convene a Conven-tion of States. Activists who wish to curb the power of the Federal Government see this as a way to amend the Constitution without the participation of Congress. The con-vention would be established and run by state legislators. Our speaker explained that reasons to change the Constitution with this unprecedent-ed tactic was to curb the power of the Federal Government and return power to the individual states. One wonders if shells will be falling again on Fort Sumter!
