The main road through the course, the clubhouse, car parks, heli-pad, maintenance shed complex, practice facilities, turf nurseries and the Beacon Lighthouse (hole 6) are out of bounds. A ball coming to rest on or beyond the below scenarios is out of bounds, even if it comes to rest on another part of the course that is in bounds for other holes: - the main road when playing holes 1, 7, 12, 13 & 14, - the roadway leading to the lighthouse when playing holes 2, 4, 5, 6 & 18. Exception: a ball played from the back tees on hole 5 coming to rest on the right-hand side of the walled roadway. When playing hole 10, any ball coming to rest across the cart path to the right of the hole is out of bounds. The areas defined by red stakes (with green tops) and/or red lines bordering the Atlantic Ocean on holes 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 & 18 are No-Play Zones in a penalty area. When the player’s ball comes to rest in such areas, they must take penalty relief under Rule 17.1d or 17.2. If your ball is outside a No-Play Zone and a No-Play Zone interferes with your area of intended swing or stance, you must take relief under Rule 16.1. Ground under Repair is defined by any area encircled by a white line and/or G.U.R. signage. Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for breach of a Local Rule is the General Penalty. The Committee may disqualify a player entering any No-Play Zones throughout the golf course. Players, caddies and spectators are warned not to attempt to retrieve balls from the No-Play Zones on holes 2, 3, 4, 7, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17 & 18 and any ball entering such an area MUST BE ABANDONED. It is positively dangerous to do so and the club will NOT accept any liability for any injuries caused by such pursuits. Caution must be taken when playing on cliff-edge greens and when playing from cliff-edge tees. Old Head Golf Links, Kinsale, Co.
