MV Cable CatalogTRANSCRIPT
Okoguard Is Okonite's registered trade name forits exclusive ethylene-propylene rubber (EPR)base, thermosetting compound, whose optimumbalance of electrical and physical properties isunequaled in other solid dielectrics. Okoguardinsulation, with the distinctive red color and atotally integrated EPR system, provides theoptimum balance of electrical and physicalproperties for long, problem free service.
Type MV-105 conductors are assembled withfillers, three bare stranded grounding conductorsand a binder tape into a round core. A continu-ously corrugated welded aluminum sheath(C-L-X) encases the cable core. The C-L-Xsheath is protected with a low temperatureyellow Okoseal® jacket. The impervious, con-tinuous, corrugated aluminum C-L-X sheathprovides complete protection against moisture, liquids and gases in addition to its excellent me-chanical strength. In addition, the aluminumsheath has adequate ampacity capability to beused as a grounding conductor in non HL areas. The Okoseal jacket allows the cable to be directburied in the ground, embedded in concrete orareas subjected to corrosive atmospheres.
C-L-Xpower cables are recommended as aneconomical alternate to a wire in conduit system. They are designed specifically for use as feed-ers or branch circuits in industrial and utilitypower distribution systems. C-L-Xpower cablesmay be installed in both exposed and concealedwork, wet and dry locations, directly buried in theearth, or embedded in concrete. They may beinstalled on metal racks, troughs, in cable traysor secured to supports not greater than 6 feetapart.C-L-X Type MC-HL cables are also approved forClasses I, II, and III, Division 1 and 2 and ClassI, Zones 1 and 2 hazardous locations - NEC Ar-ticles 501, 502, 503 and 505.
