FY 2012 The Oklahoma Board of Nursing held its second regular meeting of FY 2012 on September 27, 28 & 29, 2011. It was announced that Debra Hensley was hired as a Nurse Investigator in the Investigative Division, Sherri Jordan was hired as a temporary employee in the Regulatory Services Division, and Sarah Hunter was hired as a temporary employee in Administrative Services and the Investigative Division. The Board was given an update on the agency’s progress under the shared services agreement with the Office of State Finance. Timekeeping will be moving toward a system of employee entry within the Employee Self-Service module. Inventory will eventually move to a bar-code scanning type of tracking system. An Open Meeting/Open Records workshop is being offered by the Attorney General’s office. Information on the workshop was distributed to Board members. The agency previously distributed a memorandum explaining Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act changes as they relate to advanced practice nurses, which become effective November 1, 2011. A copy of the memorandum was distributed to Board members. A Case Process Timeline teaching tool was distributed and discussed. J. Ward was thanked for her work in developing the tool. The Tuesday portion of the November Board meeting will begin at 2:00 PM to allow time for an education session.
